hello guys i was wondering at what point is it safe to bore a b16b block?? 82 -83mm or even more??
There is a very good Darton sleeved b18 block on eBay, a true 2.0L
Unless you know the company who sleeved it, I wouldn't buy it. The tolerances for darton sleeves are very small and need to put in properly or they will drop.
Max I'd bore would be 81.5mm as others have said. However with sleeving you can go to 85mm, maybe more but the thickness between cylinders is very small.
EBay sleeved block...lol. Hopefully it's not a DIY job.
Think he's mean's its on Ebay but done by R-motion. (doesn't mean R-motion did it themselves though), they could of got a machine company they know to do it as the machinery is pretty dammmn expensive lol
When I seen the title of this I thought no f**king way is the B16B boring! lol
But now I see, I would do what Rich says!
thx for the info guys!! i would sleeve it if it was a reasonable price but it will cost around 4k euro to buy and put on the darton sleeves for example so it wouldnt worth it
Weres the best place to get a block sleeved in the UK. There isn't anywere on the isle of man that can do it. Im trying to weigh up b20 or sleeved b18.
