How come more people do not 'chip' the standard ECU and spend all of their money on an aftermarket ECU?

7k is abit high aint it? but as said depends on setup.
I find that a 3.5k launch offer good amount of traction but thats dc2r

how does launch control work on a manual car? i know how it works on automatic but on manual?
It is done by setting a rev limit when when the car is Stationary & wont go above that rev limit untill you go above a certain speed!
eg- 4500rpm limit below 10mph once you reach 10mph you will get your full rev range!
