Might give it a go but it never actually said on the sale genuine anywhere and I very much doubt pay pal will be helpful when it comes to fake items, down to the buyer to check I believe. If anyone has any advice please let me know.
 
dude, sell it on stating your not sure weather it is genuine. Sell it at a good price. There are plenty of fools out there that dont care about their safety/quality of product that will take it off your hands.

You cant just waste your money like that.

If someone offers me money for it knowing its a fake they can have it but If I did that i'd be no better than the original seller, I know its not genuine now and I dont think it would feel right knowing some one might actually drive with it on.

I was a fool for taking a gamble like that in the first place needless to say I won't again :angry:.
 
To be fair, if it ever needed to be used the chances are it will perform exactly like the original ones. However, I would not be willing to take that chance and I would not run it either.

Advertise it as your not sure, but suspect it is fake and say why. I'm sure someone out there will take it and you will hopefully make the money back :)
 
First thing that i noticed was the different colour of the buckle, other than that they look like very very good copies! i have a genuine set of takatas and there is not a lot in the difference!
 
Just to let you guys know, there are actually fakes out there with the same 4 stitching aswell, usually they have 7, but seen some 4 aswell.

Did it come with an FIA certificate?
Fakes these days are very hard to spot. Original ones are bright and give off a nice shine in light.

Never seen a 3 stitched one before. If you think it may be an old design/new design etc, maybe emailing Takata directly with a couple pics for assistance could help to let you know if they are genuine or not?
If you still have them, id ask Takata directly.
 
mate sell it and buy a fia harness from prima motorsport. hell of a lot cheaper,do just as good a job.

unless you want to buy it to be seen as a JDM fanboy! ;)

He has already bought them, if he still has them its worth double making sure, they look cool imo.

ha sorry misread in a rush dude lol.

Im looking into getting a set, so will have to buy them carefully and not get caught out.
 
Got my Takatas today. They actually look slightly different to the OP's pics.
some differences-

-Mine has the 4 stiches unlike the OP's 3 stitches.
-green is more 'Greener' and brighter/shiny'er (sp) than op's.
-the fia tag is shiny and the way its stitched in is cleaner and hasnt creased bottom of tag.
-the latch cam lock thing is silvery grey colour. and torx screws behind it arent shiny/chrome atall, but more of a metal/steel colour.

Im still not saying the OP's are fake because the green material does look pretty good just like original, only takata will be able to clear that up.

the colouring differences what i have pointed out may just be his camera, but mine deffinately has 4stiches.

If anyone would like to see pics of mine to compare let me know and il take some. There are deffinately few differences to the OP's. But its scary to know if his are copies, how close matching they are.
