Just been told the wishbone was hanging off, and to fix its £130 + vat for the part! (ball joint i assume)

Sometimes i hate having an older car  So much money spent on little renewed parts :angry2:

exactly my dilemma i had whether to buy a newer car or older one haha

Depreciation vs maintenance.

I prefer older cars and maintenance. Just.

A balljoint does not cost £130.

That's the cost my mechanic gave me, and I trust him with my life lol only person I do when it comes to cars (family friend).

Will check what he has to order to fix it. I assumed balljoint!

Dan, newer doesn't mean happier :p yeah you have to maintain and restore some bits, but it's rewarding :run:

if a wishbone was hanging off how could the car drive? it needs top and bottom pieces to be connected to operate?!?! sounds suspect to me...

yeh ur right although the hassle of having to constantly deal with bodywork and rust where as newer yeh u still get ur problems but not nearly as bad depending on what car u have obviously

balljoint is pressed into the hub (new one is about £15)

find out exactly what is wrong

adl / blueprint stuff is good , if you want a part number so you can get one from your local motor factors then i can get one for you , that whole arm is about £40/£45

might be a good idea, pass it onto my mechanic. He is a bit hesitant to use stuff like this as sometimes you have to change them twice as much in the same time as an OEM.

Have you used these a lot and installed over a long period? cheers

I've got a pair of EK9 arms int he garage with good BJs if you're interested.

Otherwise, it's a sound excuse for a camber kit! ;)

Ah pooo...never even thought about the camber kit! You can buy them cheaper than the ball joint :run:

Need to have a wee look at these now! cheers

I would go for a camber kit mate, look into it sounds like you have a great excuse to get one now :))
