Hi guys, im thinking about buying a Skunk2 intake manifold, but i really wanted to know if its worth changing it in my car, or the stock manifold is more than enough for my setup?
Im not going to modify more than the following specs:

The same goes for the header, cause im thinking of buying a hytech replica tri-y header.

Car : 2000 EK4, completely converted to ek9, only thing kept form ek4 is the rear seats and the moonroof.....:

-Motor b16b stroked to 1.8cc with itr crank, rods and itr pistons.
-EK9 OEM header
-Spoon 2 ayer gasket
-5 zigen n1 exhaust
-Top fuel intake
-Stock ecu

What im changing :
-Spoon camshafts
-Crome or power FC ecu.
-Skunk 2 manifold???
-Hytech replica header?

What do you think?.
Is the stock maniofold more than enough for the setup? or will be better to go the skuns 2 route?
Is the header im currwently using holding the car back?

Thanks in advance

I think that with your setup the oem intake manifold is more than enough.

how about hte header?
Is it too big for my car?, cn it hold it back?

Thanks. rvm

In my opinion you should get another header, vibrant, spoon, 5zigen, toda, mugen, are great options, but it all depends on your buget. :nice:

If you have OEM b16b manifold that is good for now, if you have b16a manifold then upgrade the skunk2

Supposedly the car came woth the b16b manifold.
How can I tell them apart? any engravings or codes?

Thanks

what do you mean...

The b16b IM is larger than the B16a, if you have a mate with a b16a you should both pop your hoods so you can compare them side by side, you will be able to see a good difference if yours is b16b.

edit: or just post a photo on here, we will be able to tell you :nice:

This is old photo from when i used to have OEM b16b IM:

the pic you posted is a b16b inlet mani.it is smooth. ek4 one has line things on top of the plenum and doesnt have that sensor on runner number 2

Si its confirmed i have the b16b stock manifold, and form waht you guys tell me i dont have the necesity of upgrading it, even though the motor is now 1.8cc and gooing for spoon cams.
Now about the header, should i keep the b16b stock header or the hytech replica woul be good upgrade?

One more question, are the DC2 and ek9 manifolds the same?

thanks

The replica header would be a goo upgrade, if you are having a full remap done i am sure you will have some gains with the Skunk2Pro IM. Its the non-PRO version you should stay away from as its identical to the OEM b16b IM.
