which sparkplugs ?

NGK BKR7E will work fine. You can buy iridium plugs if you want but there dam expensive compared to the BKR7E's and the only benefit of using them is that they will last longer. The iridium plug code is NKG BKR7EIX if you do feel like using them.

P.S. Put the frog back in you avatar.

Am getting some iridium aparks and leads from jp4mance.com

OEM leads are the best by the way. I was having a chat with vtec6000 about this the other day. I'll try and find the page i come across the other day about them. I'll PM it to you, you'll find it intresting.

after picking up 5hp on my friends b20 vtec i would not use anything that is not 99 cents ngk

Sorry but something isnt right there. What condition were the old plugs in and what were they ? Were they tested in the same conditions ?

they where both brand new
1 set of ngk iridium
1 set of cheap cheap 99 cents each ngk's

If the cheap NGK's were a projector style plug there shouldnt of been a difference in them providing they were tested in the exact same conditions. Put it this way, there are people pushing big numbers on turbo setups that run BKR7E's that don't have any problems. If the sparks enough to ignite a dense mixture (boost) then its more than enough for a NA setup.

The iridium plugs are indeed longer lasting.
Another reason that I thought was that they have a more stable and powerful sparking and will be good during high rpm.
Other then that the normal plugs will do fine.
Especially if you are running an external coil which will already provide a strog and stable sparking.
