part of what makes '9' handle good is the LSD. I want to upgrade my EK4 with a good 1.5 LSD... so any ideas?

prices / quality / durability??? :thanks:

i posted this new thread after reading ur 'sticky thread'...

i need more info regarding only LSD, i want to purchase one that will last long preferably... with good quality background!

m8s of mine hve purchased LSD's... sme having probs when fitting in EK4 tranny... e.g EK9 LSD not compatible for EK4 right?

what do you want to use your car for? drag? roadrace? street? all the major brands like quaife and kaaz last a very long time.

thanks for quick response!

Street use def... might track my car once or twice tops. :drive: I am after a decent LSD that wont cost tooooo much but will do the job, as mentioned prev would prefer not to open tranny again after fitting the LSD.

My mechanic advised me to fit one when recently fitted Excedy stage II clutch & 10lbs flywheel... i didnt and now my deferential seems to not handle new stage II clutch stress!! :( making a rattleing noise when depressing clutch. . .

any LSD info is welcome... as where to purchase them too, thanks...

I have just now bought an OEM SIR2 LSD with FD! It's compatible with B16A2 tranny! It's more than enough for street and mild track use!

hi, m8 tried one of these from a del sol... seemed to fit good :nice: tho he still has some time to wait till car gets back on road as still modding his supercharged B16A2 :naughty:

where did u find it & for how much?? :thanks:

Fitting any OEM LSD (whether from a JDM EG6 or an ITR) to your non-lsd EK4 will require you to change your Ring Gear as well (which usually means changing your Final Drive if you can't source just the Ring Gear on its own).

If you don't want to change your final drive, then you will have to go aftermarket, which means either gear-type (e.g Quaife) or clutch-type (e.g Kaaz).

i see... cheers for the advice! I will do some research myself to find out which suits me best. . . will keep thread updated :nice:

The oem helicals are good value for money, but you will need to change the ring gear to fit it to your EK4 :)

honda-tech.com, for sale topic! :nice:

I paid 330$ for SiR2 LSD w 4.4FD and ring gear! :D

I will get it today, so I hope I get all the parts!

:nono: good luck with that, i heard of people breaking those with 150wtq on launches...

spoke to my m8 who fitted the 'del sol' LSD... he said releasing the LSD frm the final drive & changing ring gear was a big hassle :nono: He said to purchase an OBX LSD...

anybody heard about it? comment welcome pls! ? :nice:

BTW: the '9' LSD will not fit an EK4 tranny... wont fit properly, as other m8 of mine could not fit his!

Not that much a hassle, as its just a few bolts to remove and it comes off the ring gear.

The EK9 LSD won't fit the oem EK4 ring gear, you will need to use the B16B/18C ring gear.

the people i new that broke them had 2.0 engines, you can get an ITR to 150wtq but you'll have about 210whp+ at that level.
