I've just finished work, did a 12 hour shift at ncp @ ema gonna wait till 9am and pop down to the garage to start on her to find out the problem! Gonna be a long day :nice:

Yep keep her mate ,you,ve come this far now, 2nd hand engine or full rebuild and it will be mint

Right i've found out the problem of this mess! One of the valves has snapped and has really battered a piston... I'll have to get some photos to show u guys, it's a strange one.

How is it that that would have happened? It looks really strange and i can't think of how this would have happened??

That is indeed strange. Nothing got sucked in your intake by any chance? You would think the damage would be localised to one cylinder as you only dropped one valve:confused:

i have seen this happen on vw 20v engines when they drop a valve you get fragments in more than just one cylender, it must cough bits back into teh intake as the piston comes up and forces teh compression out of teh hole where the valve used to be, easiest exit point....

yeah thats what i thought, even my mechanic thought someone put something in my intake

when your cambelt broke previously it didnt snap the head of the valves then?

Nah, only bent a few valves which i replaced, even tho i had them all out to be checked i'm guessing one of them was weak. Hopefully this other b16b block hasn't had any of them hit yet!!

I'm hoping thats what happened then!! This is a real odd one, never seen this happen b4.

Just come back from a cruise in lesta and really wana to piss all over them corsa's and saxo's!! They keep calling my car a jordan :angry2:

Right it's been almost a month and thought i'd say whats happened!!

She's back!! Engine is in and sounds very quiet :) I've put my foot down and everything is in order.

Only thing i can see thats annoying me is that on idle it coughs/splutters now and then :S Now i was wondering if anyone can help with why this happens?

I'm going to change the oil on Wednesday as the engine i'm using now hasn't been used over a period of 3 months and same for the coolent.

Thanks for all out support!! =)
