what is this on my EK9?

its situated behind the drivers doorcard and its bolted into an opening in the metal on the front side of the door

its a small black box with two bolts at either end holding it on
 
just waiting for the camera to charge for a few minutes

its roughly the size of lets say a CD if it was square

have u got a tweeter speaker in the doorcard?
the big one at the bottom, and then the tweeter sits in the triangle bit on the top cornor of the doorcard, as if it was the base plate for the mirror if u get me

if so then it is the distributor block for the speakers

the main feed from stereo gets fed into there, then that splits the signals and sends the high notes to the tweeter at the top of the doorcard and lower notes to the bigger speaker at the bottom :)
 
yea crease thats what i first thought but wasnt aware that ek9's came with seperate tweeters. mine hasnt got any anyway

and as you can see from the pictures that grey lead thats comes out of the left hand side doesnt go anywhere . it continues out for a foot or so then end up in shrinkwrapand masking taped to the door
 
hmmm im not to sure then, can u not trace the wires to see where it goes?

what year is ur 9 mate??
ive got audio instalation guide to see if any of those colours are on the list like?

disconnect it and see if anything stops working??

if it aint audio then could it be something to do with central locking?
 
thinkin bout it, wud it be summat to do with central locking? and that grey wire that dont go anywhere is the antenna?

i dnt kno what it is, jus trying to throw some suggestions up there?
 
It looks similar to the power folding mirror relay
 
alarm box??? i have the same box for my clifford in the drivers dooer :)
 
I think you will find it is the remote locking control box. Anything pre Rx had a more sort of aftermarket looking box. These were a Honda Access kit fitted at the Honda dealer. This is what yours looks like.
The Rx had them fitted in the factory and look more original.

had a feeling it was something to do with the locking
 
very odd, that isnt on my pre face ek9

found door locking relay (think it was on door and tiny compared to above )
