what is the single best mod..?

not sure really. i just put a new clutch and light weight flywheel on my ep3 and what a difference it has made.

I wouldn't class that as a mod ...

I'd say if you would benefit from 1 single mod it would be bigger / better brakes :nice:

I tend to agree with this, every car ive owned i have uprated the brakes.

either that or a good set of tyres

This is a bit of a difficult questions. I think it comes down to what you personally want from the car such as more power, less weight, better handling & stability, or increased stopping power.

You cant say pound for pound 'this is the best mod' simply because everyone has different goals and budgets for their cars.

Id have to say tyres.. without decent contact with the road you got nothing else

Coilovers/888's
Toss up between those two.

Best mod you can do yourself-completely strip out your car. Air con gone, PS gone, ABS gone, all interior panels gone, sound proofing gone, glove box gone, roof lining gone, all boot trm inc tools and spare wheel gone.

That makes a mahoosive difference!!!!!

As been stated, all depends on what you want it for and budget.

For a modest budget , if you're talking about lap times, then as Dunsy says, brakes/tyres best mod. Or strip it and get it corner balanced, will make drastic improvement to handling acceleration and braking.

With all Hondas I/H/E mods are all important but none of these on own are going to give much of an increase.

If you're talking power, as Kozy says displacement, plenty of B18 swaps on here. And if you count dropping a K20A in as 'one mod', not a bad choise.

Alternatively is forced induction, but you can't really count a supercharger/turbo set up as a single mod.

Personally I think for straight line speed the most cost effective mod would be a NOS setup, though not many people on here seem to run it.

Another alternative would be a remap, someone on here recently got some really good gains on what was effectively a stock motor, with a fair gain in mid range torque which would improve flexibilty and all round driveability.

My final 'mod' would be yourself. About a year ago I did an advance driver track day kind of thing with some ex police drivers, I think this improved my b road 'lap times' more than many individual mods would have.

agree with weasel best mod is weight reduction increase power to weight reduce parisitic drag and its free, then spend on chassis.

:wow: Hondata

What good are any mods without a proper tune?

:clap::clap:
This is the best place to start and the best tyres IMO are Bridgestone RE01R followed by Yoko Neova.

Actually thinking about it. The best thing you could do is not spend any money on the car and put it towards a track day
A cheap £99 air field day is a good place to start.
