what engine am i running???

Well since the day I've bought my car i never got to know what my real engine code is . Don't get me wrong i know its a d15b non vtec but the thing is what is the engine code d15b.....??? On the blue plate you find when you open the hood I find type - Ri . The car is a 98 civic hatch non vtec . My prob is that when ordering stuff i don't know if it will fit because i don't know the full engine code.

Any one knows?? 10x

the engine code is stamped on the side of the block as is every honda engine. on yours it will be on the left of the block next to the exhaust manifold just below the coolant outlet.

Look at the number at your block...like civicsport said. Thats the engine you have.

If that's what is listed that is the engine you are rocking.

It will be what it says, 9/10 unless it looks like its been carved on. What ecu is it running ? If you can find the ecu open the case and see if its been chipped.

I have that motor on my EJ6 , check it out.

I'm pretty sure we're running the same motor the only difference I see is that you don't have the complete air box.,..

the thing is that d16 and d15b engine look very very similar.

no thats 100% a d15b pretty certain they run the same head as the d16y7 but just a 1.5 block

you think a d16y7 would have a better cam than a d15b. or would it be better to get a head off a d16y7

my plans are to go big tho . once i buy the engine it's got to get an internal change. higher compression all the way . the secret behind Honda.
