Just woundering what kinda times people have got down a quarter mile. Im off to santa pod saturday so kind of looking for a time to aim for.

Unsure of bhp, but i certainly dont wanna put on the dyno at pod and embaress myself with there low ball dyno readings.

My spec is

B18c6 bottom end
Ek9 head, cams, retainers
Spoon headgasket
Tapped 70mm throttle body and intake manifold
Spoon ecu
4.7 s80 gearbox.

Would aiming for 14.3 be a vit optermistic?

Cheers

itr intake
itg air box
s80 4.7
rmf drag header
skunk2 mega power
Vtec 6000 map

13.5 103 trap speed

I think 14.3 sounds about right, once you get a run or two in to get rid of any jitters. I think your right on with your time though. You may hit high 14's depending.

I'm basing this on a 178 WHP 240sx and a Mitsubishi Eclipse with bolt ons. Also, Civics that I've seen run with bolt on mods.

id say with your spec you could achive that time easily.

i managed 14.2 with

b16b
intake, header, exhaust
tuned on vafc

s4c with cusco lsd/clutch

Comparing times without stating weight or tyres is not going to be a fair comparison surely?

Isn't it a better indicator to look at the speeds? The times are skewed by traction, which will vary from strip to strip, as well as with different tyres.

I always thought the speeds were a better indicator of how fast the cars truly are, as a powerful one may struggle to get the power down, meaning they put in a similar time to a lower powered one, but may cross the line 10mph up.

I agree with Kozy on this. Far too many factors to think about when comparing times, another is Driver skill, a lot of people think driving in a straight line is easy but you can loose so much time if you balls up the launch. I know a few Jordans with similar spec to mine and they have all done completly different times to mine. Surface is a key factor too as I know for smaller powered vehicles Santa Pod is actually a lot slower than crail for example.

UK dc2 - 14.8. - airbox resonater removed that was all.

Spoon stroked ek9 - 14.3 - spec can't mind but so much more torque compared to teg , ek9 was 212bhp 154 lb/ft oh and was stripped out

13.5 103 trap speed

No danger I struggle to believe that unless, nope can't think how it's possible

If I can find my timesheet for my Astra will show you that highly spec'd cars may not be faster on 1/4 mile but are serious machines once they gotten traction.
Off my head my fastest trap speed was 109-110 and the times I was getting were 13.5-13.9ish
That's with 330hp and 370ftlbs. So if a b18 ek9 can pull the same quarter with what 200hp.
Does that mean an ek9 with anything over 200hp is faster than an Astra with 330?
I can tell you that's a massive no lol

Eg6 removed rear seats, passenger front seat, spare, tools, wipers lol. So approx 1060kg with me in.
195/45R15 Eagle F1 Gsd3 20psi on front. 195/50r15 re040 45psi rear.
Spoon springs on kyb shocks.
Standard b16a
Std air box with KnN panel.
Supersprint 421, 60mm decat, system and spoon n1.
14.22sec. At 102 mph

Average dry overcast day.

No danger I struggle to believe that unless, nope can't think how it's possible
why isn;t it possible first day in car done 13.8 next day done 3 runs 13.5 in a row changed tyres did a 13.6 then engine mount broke

proof

Definitely sounds achievable
I only ever went once but I managed a 14.2 with mine a few years ago at shakespeare. EK4 with standard b18c6 with a spoon header, 98spec ecu and a 4.7 S80. I think the car at the time was probably about 1050-60Kg without driver.

14.8 on my racelogic box in the b20..

In December, on a wet long flat range road. Bit of snow :)

I've endeared the Honda drag racing series so will see what I get on a drag strip..
