Vibrant header

vtecroadhog

Have you installed your vibrant header yet?

If my CAT has a 2.25 collector, would the 2.5 collector from the header be much of a problem?

Do I need to modify my CAT? or can I get away with it?

Edging towards buying the Vibrant header.
:nice:

I looked at my CAT flange (haven't measured it) and it looks near enough a 2.5?

I'm thinking of buying a 2.5 CAT to make things easier, rather than cut and modify it.

Are all flanges on JDM CAT's the same? If I have a 2.25, I guess it's only 0.25 difference?

there are maybe just 0.25 difference but you will can't fit it sincerly the adapatator is really esay to install

and if you you bought an JDM decat it will be shorter than an EU decat
JDM decat = JDM catback

I'm glad I found this forum as I, too, will be purchasing a Vibrant header.

There was an interesting question asked early about pipe size.

The header collector is 2 1/2" while the cat entry is 2 1/4". Converting the 2 1/4" from the cat into a 2 1/2", does it make any noticeable difference whereas if your system was 2 1/2" all the way back?

Here, we are talking about a 1/8" difference all around the pipe and will this "choke" effect performance?

Blaak

on motors that are relatively stock, the slight choke might not even show up on the dyno...but with motors that have cams fitted or compression bumped or both plus displacement, you would want the exhaust to go from 63.5mm from the collector to testpipe to a full 70mm back after that.

Is it worth spending $150cad for a T1-R testpipe or having a muffler shop fit a non-resonated one for around $50? All up to your wallet if your motor is mild.

i cant buy it from U.S coz of taxes.. thanks

You can. In fact you'll have to if you want this header as it's not sold outside the US.

I went in with another member on the forum (we ordered 2) when I got mine so we split the tax - still worked out at under £300..

Under £300?

Thats a bargin! I'm looking at the £500 mark atm :(

Just wondering, does anyone have any proven increases with this manifold? :) Just wondering what kind of increases we'd be looking at

My Vibrant header was 600$ from the USA. The price includes the ship. cost too.

I purchased from neverenoughauto

Never Enough Auto

You can find them on ebay too.

The model is Vibrant #2539 (J.sepc 4-2-1)

Hey Thanks for the link :)

They would still be around £450 for me though when import tax and handling costs are included :(

I know someone mentioned this on the previous page but tbh i didn't really understand the answer :( so ill shoot again :)

If i bought a EK9 cat would i still need to purchase a 2.5" adaptor?

thankyouplease :)

Hi mates!

I also bought 4-2-1 J spec vibrant header since 1 year ago!!Iam very satisfied with its quality of welding and tube all around shape.I cared about buying a header with long secondaries tubes. The quality of vibrant is between mugen and toda but its price is very lower!!!!

The NEVERENOUGHAUTO store has very good service and good prices.

Did you get gasket to the header?

I got license plate, Vibrant catalog, but header gasket wasn't in the box...

I wrote an email and they responsed the gaskets isn't accessory.

Interesting.

btw. I purchased the outlet flange kit too.

Header gasket includes into packaging ONLY for cheap header,so the sellers attracts the buyers!!These head gaskets have poor quality!!You can use a good after market header or OEM honda.:nice::nice:
