Very wet footwell ANY IDEAS?


noticed mine is leaking too! i thought it might have something to do with my rep spoon mirrors i just bought because it started just after i bought them, better have a look soon!
 
Mines is exactly same as you guys, passenger footwell and under seat was totally saturated! I have stripped the interior, carpet out, the lot! My car is in a lock up so its all dry and cleaned and I'm gona have a look at the places you guys have mentioned! Thanks for the write up Tmus!! :)

found my leak!!! :( had the interior totally stripped out and left the car in the rain for a while. The leak is coming from under the car in an identical split on each side exactly where your feet would be if you were sitting in the back. there is split on the underneath of the car and the seam seal has split inside the car and water is coming in there! hope its not bad and weakended the shell!!

my car is in the spray shop at the minute so my mate is gona clean it all out with an air gun, wax treat it, weld it then spray it and waxoyl it! he says it may have been caused by wear and tear and since I have stiffened the chassis up so much and the seam seal has cracked.

any1 else experienced this? I dont know if the car has been in a crash. the previous owner said it hadnt and not sure about the owners before that! it is HPI clear

Defo no water coming in from heater matrix, door seals, gromits, etc! its all dry now and hopefully it will be ok!

I have the same problem my footwell gets soaking wet after it rains so it is definately getting wet from above. Further to this the windscreen gets alot of condensation on the inside and when its really cold I actually have ice on the inside of my car!

I took up all my carpet and underlay and then sprayed a hose down my windscreen, but I didnt have any luck and couldnt see or feel where it was coming from at all.

I will have a look and see if it is the problem above this weekend and let you know how I get on!

good luck greenEK4vti coz its a pain in the arse! Check gromets, heater matrix, splits in the seam seals and welds on the floot under the seats and behind seats, etc! if you are getting condensation and ice on windscreen then your windscreen rubber seal defo needs replaced!! cheers
 
Here are pics of where split in the seams were:

bottom left corner you can see where the water has came in. exactly same at opposite side. I have a funny feeling it may be where the car has been tightend up by the Harness Bar??

i hope your keeping it bare and whacking a cage in there.

I haven't ever noticed any leaks in my car and i have braced the **** out of it.
 
no rear seats goin back in but nah no cage! :(

A kno its weird, fek knos what has caused it??!:(

I meant to say I never noticed any leaks, etc when I had my rear interior out and when cleaning the front until I removed the carpet totally. If you havent removed the front carpet and seats maybe best to do so, I recommend all ek9 owners do it for peace of mind as it seems like alot of people have the same problem. Mine should be all fixed tomorrow so I will get pics up! :)

anyone know what could have caused the splits, etc??:((
 
Infact, i seem to remember it being wet under my carpet when i fitted my cage, didnt think anything of it.

Its defo worth a look mate, expecially incase of small rust issues which I have encoutered on the seam seals!:(( you can also give it a good clean, etc and maybe find stuff under the carpet!lol I found a screw, 2p and a corner of a japanese sweetie wraper!lol

Its been in the spray shop for 2 weeks now getting sorted so fingers crossed I can get my baby back on tue coz I miss it like hell!! F**k keepin it off the road for the whole winter!
 
Know how you feel man, mine has nearly been off the road for nearly 2 months now :(.

I have actually found myself thinking..."Hmmm this rover goes alright for a 1.4" hahah

aahahahahahah, cereal, a few weeks ago i was going onto the motorway in my ibiza and put the foot down and was like 'yeh this is pretty fast man'

its so bad. makes me want to die lol :drive:
 
Wel I've hated driving my dads Mitsibushi carisma for the last 3 months! :( its the worst car in the world! its a 1.8 but it kangaroo's in every gear!lol
