Im looking to buy an EK9 that has been very modded. Im after a well cared for example with no expense spared, something that has had everything done to it.

Now the important bit - Im after a very fast 9 with lots of power. Either a turbo'd or supercharged example.

I currently own an IHI powered 350bhp 340lbs Audi TT which is very fast and would want an EK9 to be of the same level.

I know im asking for a hell of a car but im prepared to pay good money for the right car. I have around £10k to spend and im willing to pay that for the right example.

If nobody can help with this then i'll be forced to build one of that spec which i dont really want to do. I want to enjoy driving a fast, reliable and fantastic EK9.

Send me a PM or e-mail me at - jamal_awan@hotmail.co.uk

Thanks :)

there are not alot of turbod examples in the UK let alone for sale. You'll find more turbod EG civics...

Most people will leave EK9's as N/A, however there are some about for sure, ive seen a couple pop up over year or so.

Good luck finding what you want. You'll need a turbod EK9 to be around the 270BHP mark to match your 350BHP TT.

And thats an easy task to get that. But your giving me the impression your after speed mainly. You havent mentoined cornering ability etc....

You sure an EK9 is the car for you? Have you had experience in one?

Without wanting to kick of a huge argument, I dont think the EK9 would need to be anything near 270BHP to match the TT. TT's are very heavy (circa 1600kg IIRC) and have significant transfer loss. With the EK9 being so much lighter and FWD, you may find that after driving a well modified B16B still NA its not far off what your after, if not B18C converted EK9's may be another option. Once you drive an EK9 you wil find that in a stright line they are reasonably quick and have excellent handling, although its a totally different experience to a turbo car.

Good luck ith your search.

You could be very well right there dude. That was just a guidline.

I do think an N/A powerd EK9 270BHP would be faster then a turbo EK9 270BHP by the way the power is put on the road. The N/A will have less torque putting the power down alot better and MUCH better response.

So N/A 270BHP would Kick the TT's arse with 350BHP. Even the turbo would to thinking about it.

Think your right there mate. I forgot just how heavy those cars are. I thought they were around 1350KG.

Thanks for the info people, the TT is a heavy car and being 4wd it does have some transfer loss. I've never had an experience of an EK9 unfortunately but if i were to buy one it would need to be pretty quick and feel as good as the TT i have. Also, i would want the power to be useable and im not sure how you'd get near 270bhp in an EK9 N/A?

I'll be on the look out for a very modded N/A example as that would be very useable etc.

why dont' u just buy a ek9 drive around in it's normal aspirated form then put in a turbo/super charger and feel the difference.. that way u'll have way more satisfaction.
my 2cents

Thats fair enough buddy.

You can acheive 270BHP from N/A. I wouldnt say from the B16B(OEM EK9 engine) but from the DC2(B18C engine) fully built up with cams/throttle bodies etc i would say you could get very very near that.

And that would be very useable power.

Oh and even though your TT will be alot faster then a stock EK9 i bet you will still love a stock one.
