Ur civic's Milage...

hmmm, i been looking around at current Ek9's and worrying about mileage im trying to get a one with like 30 or 40k uk miles, but you say they dont break in intill 100 lol :S

well my old black EG6 i sold it on 126K miles
my wifes EG4 Lsi has currently got 128K miles
I bought an esi for spares with 158K miles on it (it ran fine but i brok it for parts for my project)

and my current project has 97K miles on it, tho this is pritty irrelavent due to the fact everything on the car has been chnaged, the 6b has only done 25K :)

My old d14a4 had 142000 uk miles wen i sold it and it ran like a dream, my Ek4 has 63000 uk miles, only bought it like 3 months ago with 54000 but i travel alot with my job - but im stopping travelling in august so mileage will stop going up so fast!

my 98 ek9 which is still on its way has only done 37,000 miles (60,000km) :D

having the cambelt, tensioner and waterpump changed before i pick it up as it should have been changed by now due to the age of the car, so it should be running saweet!

twd mine has done 102,000km thats 62k uk miles, Nothing at all for a B16B the engine doesnt really break in till after 100k UK miles as Honda will also tell you
Can you explain more what you mean by saying that it doesn't "break" until 160,000 km?? Do you mean that no matter how much I abuse the car, there is no way to break(severly damaged) until that mileage(if not modded?) or you say that there is no engine wear up to that point? Am asking because I perceive the word "break" very heavy for the B16B at 160,000 km. Thanks

the words i posted were "break in" :angry2:

My old UK spec dc2 had 168,000 miles (270,000 km) when the big end popped at Thruxton. I took it in as a px with the blown engine. It was regularly used on track days and only broke because he used really thin Mobil 1 oil that was like water, 0w30 i think.
Dunx

my 9 has 208,000km on it an still runs perfect....once you take care of them an service regularly they'll last the distance....i no a guy that had a d15 engine in his civic an the clock went completely around an it still ran fine he drove alot wit his job but he looked after the car

My chassis (USDM 96 CX) has about 149,000 Miles (about 240,000 KM) and my B16A2 engine swap (USDM 99 Si) has about 95,000 miles (about 153,000 KM). No tellin how much is on the tranny.

ΕΚ9 was builded to last even when is not "respected". While a normal car can reach 300,000 - 400,000 kms if not being mistreated at all, an EK9 can reach these numbers even when being abused(taking it of course for service on time etc...). Anyone who does not abuse his EK9, he shouln't be surprised to go beyond half a million of kms with not a single problem, especially if the car has no mods as well. Remember, even a single air filter reduces the engine's life!!

whaaaaaaa??

76k km when converted to miles (47k) so I work it out at 71k miles total.
