Has anybody on here had dealings with the uniroyal rainsport 2 tyres? Now that goodyear have stopped making the eagle f1 I'm at a loss for a tyre that grips in the wet! I'm on parada spec 2's at the moment and I hate them.

I used to have these maybe not the mark 2 but rainsports

Decent enough tyres, i doubt they are as good as the eagle f1`s though
more of the T1-R range

I thoguht they stopped making them ages ago though
How much are they ??
 
oh... and t1r's are gash as well. camskill are selling them for £42.40 for 195/50/15's.

anyone tried the rainsport 2's tho, I'm still optomistic that they might have been improved on!
 
I've been using the Rainsport 2s since the start of the year. They coped with snow and ice ok, and are very good in the rain and standing water is not an aqua-planing hazard. The dry grip is impressive for such an all round tyre, maybe they squeal a bit earlier than the RS2 or similar but i can still go round corners faster than I dare.
They scrabble for grip a bit if you're changing from 1st to 2nd totally flat out, throttle jammed to the floor, but I'm guessing that if you're looking at the rainsports then you
aren't so interested in 1/4 mile times etc.

I have tried Eagle F1 and think they are terrible on the EK9 (in my personal opinion) , too much sidewall flex and not enough feel, turn in not crisp , steering slightly dulled; saying that however I used F1s on a slammed 306 GTi-6 and they felt just right on that, so a lot of it is down to personal preference and how you want your car to feel.

For the price I have been very pleased with these , better than I'd expected and also seem to wear quite slowly even with 'spirited' driving. My 9 is standard part from a Twinloop and is my DD and only car, for me the Rainsports do everything I need. If you car is more modified I'd get some more advice from other users with higher powered cars.

Jonathon.... i got in there before you and brought the Eagle F1's off Adam... i must say i'm liking them!!

Well atm dude... mine is all locked up in the garage has been pretty much all week, good luck ;) lol.. i must say i like going in there as it is glistening with hmm where do i start Auto G, super resin, extra high gloss, and liquid hardwax ;) she may be making an appearance tonight though lol!
 
Well I don't suppose I or anyone will be able to get them off now that someone tightened your nuts up so tight they bent the tool!haha.

yeah I bet, Adam has just finished washing his teg for the 100th time today I think.
