i got my 99 ek9 dyno recently and it showed 157bhp at the flywheel
can anyone tell by the sheet what is causing the car to be down so much bhp?
it was totally standard at the time of dyno apart from a password jdm intake
dont know if this makes any difference but the car was driven hard for 2 hours before the dyno took place and it was dyno with the bonnet closed
it is definatly a b16b because it says it on the block

any idea what oil and water temp was when run ? if high then figure sounds about right

heat soak could have affected the run, also some dyno's just read low, i would be more concerned with how you fair against other ek9's or VTI's, if you are slower than a VTI then i would:

-check timing at distributor to make sure its accurate
-make sure you are using at least 94+ octane fuel
-new distributor cap
-new distributor rotor
-new spark plug wires
-new spark plugs
-clean intake filter
-new fuel filter
-new oil filter
-new oil

or even better before you spend money on major tune up do a compression test to see if the motor is even healthy, if you have good compression then do the tune up :nice:

the distributer on my car is not original honda, could this be the problem?would it make 20bhp difference though??car no has had a good service,oil/oil filter/tranny oil/new air filter/plugs/leads etc but hasnt been on the dyno since

was it a dyno dynamics dyno??

i got 174.8 bhp atf on my car there 2 days ago.and its got a 98 spec b18c

there was a boy there in a dc5 that got a result of 257 on a dyno a few monthes back ago at AI autosprt in northern ireland and on the same day as me he got 208bhp atf on the dyno dynamics dyno

Thats strange because my '00 EK4 SiR made 172bhp at the flywheel in Westward. And my engine was totally standard had the cat and everything in. I'd concider Westwards dyno one of the truest dynos in Ireland.

And every car dyno'd down there is done with the bonnet closed.

Has the car been serviced recently?

ive got the same problem.my print out looks different to this.mabie its the dyno that is out.did thay ask you about ur gearing + set up?
