Howdy,

Was going to get someone to underseal my car but i trust my own ability and precision more then another.

*Can people share there techniques?

*Whats the best under-seal to use?

*What separates a cheaper brand to a more expensive brand?

*What are the recommended places to under-seal(meaning what parts of the car?)

*Do i need a spray gun?

*Do i have to remove original under-seal in aches etc, mine have flaked in many places or can i put new under-seal over it.

*Where there is slight surface rust in places im assuming that this should be rubbed away completely before under-sealing? Can i under-seal straight over the bare metal or should i give it a quick coat of paint before?

I havent got a ramp only axles so will be a bit of a pain. And idealy i wanted black to give a nice clean look too.

I'm planning on doing mine again soon, I'm sure I did it fine the first time when I crawled under my car, it doesn't even see much wet driving but since I'm keeping it for a long time I want to make sure it stays rust-free.

What I'm going to do is do all the pressure washing/ steam cleaning and drying at my house with stands. Then, do all the arches and under front and rear bumper and sideskirts whilst it's still on stands and then drive the car to a rent-a-ramp to do the underside seperatley.

Last time I just used Waxoyl but this time I'm going to use the back underseal and then the Waxoyl on top to make double sure that no rust ever touches the car. So it'll just be a case of papering up the parts I don't want sprayed, then paint the underseal on with a brush, let it dry and then spray the Waxoyl on top.

Ive just contacted a firm not too far from me that specialize in this. They went in to detail exactly what products they use etc etc and the process takes them 2-3 days. They do everything and price i was quoted was between £350-£400. I was shocked but when he explained the process it made sense.

What do you guys reckon?
Here is the link:
*underbodyprotection uses dinitrol*

There work seems to be of a very high standard. Something i could never do myself.

I mean i care about my car alot and want a tip top job. Ive never done it and quite frankly the process looks dirty/time consuming and a pig of a job especially doing in my driveway.

looks like a top job but i think with a bit of time and abit of effort you can do a reasonable job yourself.
