right lads i just bought my ek9 and im going to turbo it,
i dont know whether to take out my b16b or not,im considering putting a b18c in her and this kit

the car already has tein type flex coilovers so im very happy the suspension is sorted,have i missed anything? oh cusco lsd!!
 
Turbo a b18 mate and save you b16b just incase you decide to go back to N/A or put it back to standard as you know what people are like sometimes with ek9's they like them very standard

thats what i was thinking lad!if it all goes tits up ill just go back to my b16b and go that route:clap: alot of people are putting me off and seeing as theres only 32k i wouldnt wanna risk ****ing that up...b18c it is then:nice:

I'm currently importing an ek9 and just wondered what the power was like day in day out?
 
I defo think you should turbo a b18 and keep the b16b good ,i wish i had the balls to turbo my ek9 mate ,good luck with the build :nice:

what car have you owned before the ek9?
the b16b is a great engine but the fact that i have come from a 1999 glanza(198bhp-900kgs) and a 1998 320bhp st205 celica its hard going back to n/a power:nerv:

You should get into the 12's easy with a turboed b18 lump i know a lad who is running a jackson racing supercharger with standard boost on a civic jordan with a 30 shot of nos and teg type r head on his b16 bottom end and he just got a 13.09 1/4 mile at york (uk) at the weekend and he plans a forged bottom end and more boost and 75 shot of nos next time
 
why not?i love the handling and the looks of the ek9 but they need alot more power imho....as said ill be going the b18 way and keeping my original b16b n/a
 
If you plan to run higher boost mate i would go for low comp j.e pistons and eagle forged rods and some acl bottom end bearings as well mate + an oil cooler

of couse mate,im going fully forged so i can make the turbo sing properly,no point doing a turbo build and running 6psi max boost:lol:
and im 99% that greddy do a nice oil cooler suitable for the job
 
Yep mate no point doing it by halfs like ,my friend has a fully built boosted d series crx delsol and it 'll push 400 bhp @ 2.0 bar of boost!! he more nuts than the car !!!oh and he still has 240 mm front brake rotors , the nutter lol

.50 is MUCH too small, im assuming thats the a/r ratio? if so you need a least .63 also if you can afford it get a ball bearing turbo, it makes a HUGE difference!!! i have one and i love it!! how much power are you expecting to make? and what compression ratio are you going to go with? also are you going to keep the stock sleeves? are you gonna keep it a 1.6? becuase its a lot cheaper to build it as a 1.8 since NOBODY makes rods for b16b and custom cost $8-900, but eagle sells a 1.8 crank with forged rods for $550 which is much cheaper than custom rods AND you get a 1.8 :nice:

I had a 300 fly horsepower st205 and a 300 whp skyline and the ek9 is better than them both.... is your 9 running ok???
 
i personally like them N/A, even after owning a few turbo cars.

300WHP skyline
301 hp St205
253 hp fiat coupe 20vt
180hp r5 gt turbo


but, if this is what he wants to do then cool, as we are all here because we own EK9 type R's. if i felt the need for another turbo car though i would buy and R34 GTR or a drift spec RX7:nice::nice:
