to supercharge or stoke 1.8 a b16b?

Have someone here tried to supercharge a B16b?
What would the problem whit the pistons be?
We are not talking turbo, superchargers wants 10-11:1 compression
The B16c6 whit 11:1 compression works grate whit jacsson racing

dont really see the benifit in supercharging a B16B as its a fairly high comp engine you would be better off charging a B18C1 or something similar with a lower comp. if you want to see some comparisons search youtube. there are loads of videos of charged and stock civics on there! :nice: if i was going to supercharge a honda i'd use a rotrex one as it seems best suited to the high reving nature of the engine!

i have the jrsc sitting in my garage, waiting for the weather to get nice here...will post once its up and running/tuned

i also have a b18c crank and jdm p73-00 pistons, should do the supercharged stroker :D

that i want to see! :nice:

:shocked:strok it, use low compession pistons and turbo it then you see what is the fun:shocked:
iuse to have my d15b engine with turbo for 6 years and it was perfect

Ive seen this argument for years about the B-Series Type-r engines too high comp for superchargers / turbo's but have a look at a K20 compression ratio and look at the gains with a charger!

Seems no one has answered one bit of your question so I will do my best.

When I first joined up here I also looked at the possibility of turning the B16b into a 2l.

I know someone on here is running a 1.9, with a stroker kit and oversized pistons iirc.
It is theoretically possible to get 2l, but you'll have so little left of the original engine there are very little point in starting with a B16B. As far as I know the cheapest option for 2l B series is to use a B16a head and do a frankenstein conversions with a CR-V's
B20 bottom end.
The tuner I spoke at the time suggested it would cost as much to make a B16b a 2ltr as a full K series swap and with that you get a shiny 6 spd box too.

I had the engine out last month and I said F it, i dont trust my engine building skills just yet :(( I bough a supercharger instead just to get more out of it... NA B series engines in my city wont see more then 170whp so boost is the way to goo
