gday ladies and gentlemen
i was adjusting my vavles the other day and decided to check the timing
there are 4 marks on the crank pulley
1 on its own (for TDC)
and 3 together (for timing light purposes)
when i set it to the standard OEM settings, the car drives sluggish and hesistates around 2-3k rpm mark
when i set it advanced 2 degrees, car runs like a champ!
but when it was sitting at around the 16 degree mark, car would sometimes struggle to start, or would idle weirdly!
my first question is, maybe the timing belt was installed incorrectly?
maybe mechanical timing is not aligned or out of wack?
also, if i line up the mark thats on it own on the crank to the cover mark, should the cam gears be pointing in the UP direction? or am i doing something wrong?
it's been racking my brains out since i've had the car, and ive always thought that there must be some magical way to do it because its the almighty b16b
but maybe im wrong, maybe something is dying or dead (replace the dizzy cap and rotor and coil not long ago with NON genuine parts*couldnt get a hold of genuine parts, had to wait months for it*)
any help would be appreacited guys
kenny
