Thief on the EK9.org

There is more than one thief on here.

I also got scammed some months ago by a guy named "hooper" with even a rep thread.

yup, not hard to overcome this rep issue. either have friends or many user names to make it look like you have many +reps.

The solution is going to come down to knowing who belongs in the community or a paid membership to validate card holder and address.

The op even had the item involved in the scam in their username, CAM.ali...... Bit random or suspicious e :secret: I'd say.

If its possible I'd always travel to collect parts, not only will you never get robbed but also you can see what your buying and make sure it's as described.

I feel nobs that do wrong should just be shot would make the world a more quieter nicer place

This sale was made through pm, so its very difficult for us to identify or prevent this. The user will be permanetly banned soon, and i'm going to give all the information i got to the public in the confirmed scammers thread.

Right now you can report any user selling stuff to me or any mod and thry'll get banned inmediately. Please guys follow the rules!

scamers are on all sites, not only here, or that they are new here...they just troll here [and else-where]asking silly questions, posting other peoples cars, getting their post counts up...its not hard to do. Or even simply waiting until a newer user asking for info on parts, then PM that person offering up parts for sale.

Selling parts should be locked down to only vendors or paid membership status to halt this sort of stuff...or a percentage of the sale? Something should be done.

Paid membership usually attracts more scammers, we had a experience with a scammer that paid a donation, vip member and vendor status!

I'm planning to add a for sale anual fee + 250 posts to be able to sell and see what happens :)

Maybe only people with 250 post can only view the wtb section?? That could work. It's annoying for those genuine people but its a blessing all round. Also people who get caught spamming more then 3 times in a certain period should also be banned!!. Maybe put a bar on gaining posts off fs threads and wanted threads. Just a few ideas I wanted to put forward.

Get caught scamming once and you should be band.
No 3strike rules here lol

Go to ebay or other "sales" sites to buy and sell stuff as a private user. Vendor status should be vetted out more if someone scammed using it. "Brick and Mortar" Vendor status should be looked at maybe?

Its just tooooo easy to get a membership for this site...making it easy to scam.

Right now we are not accepting any vendors because of this.:D

Usually before approving a vendor I ask for a paypal verified screenshot, reputation threads on other forums.

They should, but they won't. I got nowhere with my disupte when 'EKSiR' aka Rob McIntyre (weapons grade c!nt) took £60 for an alternator he never sent.

Dispute it anyway, and good luck with it, but do
Not assume you will be reimbursed.

I like that weapons grade c!nt :D

I had to fight pay pal all the way to get them to process it. The really do take the sellers side straight away but if u keep at them it should help you out. It took me about 2-3 months for them to sort mine out.

Are purchases with VISA and MasterCard insured too?
