is there a major amount of work inviolved swapping the bottom end out? would it be a plauseable job to do yourself?

Lol i'v done this a few times. Its not a 5 min job mate put it that way, you need a good few days on it, its mainly time consuming to be honest...

I reckon if you know what your doing and you have everything prepped and ready it could take a good 10 hours ish. To be safe i'd give it two days, then you don't have to rush.

10 hours ! that would be one mad rush ! I always say as a GOLDERN RULE never ever rush engine jobs, you can quite easily end up with BIG problems...

alrite fair play lads ill just crack on so they were looking mad money to do it

Would anyone care to elaborate what actually is involved? Or even a link to a step by step guide?

quick run down: i'm sure i left out few bits so someone can fill them in:

pully off, timing belt off, exhaust and intak mani off, (if your transfering all parts over to new block): take off coolant water necks, pcv box, pipes, altenator and sensors etc , clutch.

thats all the main things but prob left out few parts that the lads wil remind me of i'm sure

Depends on tools and skill level, could be a 6 hor job, could be a 6 day job...
