Hey guys. Just wanted to see if anyone knows much about supercharger kits for the b16a2. Ive spotted one and thinking on buying it :) Is it a simple bolt on and a map? Or is there more parts to be added? Also wondering what kind of figures I would be looking for. Cheers

You would also need to consider things outside of the engine like clutch, transmission.
Also things like oil temp and pressure gauges just to keep an eye on things.

ye good point. I got a uprated clutch and lightened flywheel put in a few months ago and no issues with the gearbox what so ever. My plan is to take the car off the road for winter and was planning on an extended radiator and oil cooler too

Would standard injectors do the job? I'm not wanting to go to crazy with it

Ask yourself what figures you would realistically like to see firstly and plan around those figures, will give you a much better evaluation of things in my opinion.

You're thinking of s/c route and for the sake of £150 wont upgrade? Pretty stupid to put it bluntly mate.

- old ones will have degraded/less efficient spray pattern as they are X years old and will be 5+% out of each other at least if tested

- new ones, much more efficient spray pattern (potentially better results to), safer option (less likely to cause det, overall chamber temp will be improved etc)

I would be looking for around 250 at the fly. My upgrades to the car so far are 4-2-1 mugen mani, decat, spoon bpipe silencer, spoon n1, password jdm carbon induction, skunk2 inlet, magnecor competition leads, irudium plugs, Stage1 clutch and lightened flywheel. And in the future a set of ek9 cams and a decent ecu. Maybe an s300. Didn't know the injectors would be that cheap. Thought they would be dearer... And as I said I don't have a clue about superchargers or turbos that's why the post is here.

Your clutch still might not cope with forced induction.
Also supercharger kits are getting few and far between for the b series motors so you are probably easier going turbo.
You will definetly need bigger injectors. 440cc minimum.

Also the rest of the car will need looked at, worn out bushes will be highlighted pretty quickly with the uprated power/torque. So will sh*te brakes.

i think 250bhp is a high target for a supercharged b16a - i guess that what its going on , turbo will be a better option for that target .
s/c usually give about 30/40% increase in power ( as it uses power to make it ) , so if you have lets say 150bhp at the minute you'd make 195 -210 bhp , depending on your mods and health of the engine this will differ
