I've had spoon springs with standard dampers fitted for two months now, the car handles great but I'm not happy with the height! It needs to be an inch lower I reckon, but £500 coilovers for one inch can wait
agreed, they feel great just don't look aggressive enough. i somewhere that the balance is very good at the stock height. maybe spoon didn't want to change the center of gravity much....just the roll
cool.. thanks for the replies people! the spoon springs seem like a good option for what im after, and then i may add spoon dampers at a later date.
Interesting you run RCAs with a relatively high ride height. I was looking at doing this myself as I need new lower balljoints, seems to be a lot of people saying that it is bad unless you car is 'slammed'. So far as I can see it shouldn't matter, but I bow to people with experience in these matters so thought there might be something I hadn't considered.
Did you manage to compare the handling before and after the RCA install with the same suspension? I do still fancy a set, should be good for tight solos.
yea it's been good but i put my suspension setup in one shot so was kinda hard to tell
I think i realize how come my front looks so much lower with the spoon springs/shocks. I'm using a dc2 front suspension components (dc2 front subframe/front lower control arms) My front wheels actually tuck inside the fenders, however, the rear has about a 1.5" gap between tyre and fender. Reason i used the subframe is in preparation for my Kswap.
