Anyone got spoon springs? I installed a set today and there is not different in ride height. Car feels great, I also changed upper mounts, spark plugs, dizzy cap & rotor.

Do you think it might just take a few days to sag? supposed to be 20mm drop?

yea give it a few days driving and they should settle down a bit more. roughly 25 -30mm not much but definitely a bit.

Spoon springs arent known for lowering a car much! As the lads said after a few days driving they should settle a bit!

are spoon springs a good upgrade on the standard shocks? i like the standard suspension alot, but it just sits a little high.

They are designed to be used with both the standard dampers and the Spoon fixed rate ones, I've got them with the fixed rate dampers and they feel awesome, I suspect they will simply feel a little more wallowy on the standard dampers, depending on their condition.

They won't lower that much to be honest, but if you do a lot of B road driving then that's a good thing as you spend less time smashing the exhaust into the tarmac.

I've got them on mine, also with the spoon fixed dampers. They've been fitted almost 3 months now and I don't think it's any lower than standard. I'm abit disappointed to be honest, like you said it should be a 20mm drop

i have the spoon shocks and springs and mine lowers quite a bit.
But i also have the Spoon roll center adjustors which lowers it a bit more on the front

spoon springs on oem shocks. lowered the front 30-50mm rear 20-40mm at a guess.

yea i think it's not bad, pretty decent drop. personally i don't like the wheels tucked under the fender look. Not that functional

im really like the standard suspension, but i just want it to sit slightly lower.. so im pretty tempted by the spoon springs. hows the ride compare to standard springs?

That is way lower than mine at the front. More what mine looked like on Tanabe springs, which were something like -40mm.

Don't forget, those alloys look larger than the standard 15". The tyre profile will make the apperance different too.

Here's how mine looks on spoon fixed dampers and springs fitted with 15" rims and 195/50 tyres

Yes that's closer. I'll get a pic of mine tonight.

my car looks the same, minus the mudflaps.

It sits better on 195/55 tyres, also stops the mudguard scrapping on speed bumps

Interesting you run RCAs with a relatively high ride height. I was looking at doing this myself as I need new lower balljoints, seems to be a lot of people saying that it is bad unless you car is 'slammed'. So far as I can see it shouldn't matter, but I bow to people with experience in these matters so thought there might be something I hadn't considered.

Did you manage to compare the handling before and after the RCA install with the same suspension? I do still fancy a set, should be good for tight solos.

do they do different spring rates for the ek4 and ek9? surely they would be slightly stiffer for the ek9?
