Right, ive decided that my current exhaust is just too loud for daily driving! its just oem mani, decat, oem b-pipe and spoon n1 backbox.
Im looking for something with a nice sound when your beaning it, but bearable when driving normally.
What i had in mind was ek9 catback with my decat still? i presume this would still fit aswel as eventhough its a vti, the decat is adjustable?
Just wondering what you guys thinks best, cheers.

I'd look for a high flow cat. Muffles a significant amount of noise, power loss is next to nothing and you don't have to change your decat for your normal cat every MOT. And you can keep your N1 :D

Arnt high flow cats really expensive aswel tho? likewise for twinloop.
Im just an apprentice still aswel, so price would also be a factor!:(

Twinloops are heavy and look rubbish

Get an OEM exhaust on if you can't handle the noise

Its not that i dont like the noise, just dont like massive resonance at like 60mph! i love the sound in VTEC, but just fancy something more subtle, which is why i thought of ek9 OEM?

i would just give me your spoon n1 and il give you a 5zigen 304 :)

Arnt they rediculously loud anyway? My mates after one i think tho.

meh you get used to the noise, more than makes up for it when you're giving it some with the N1

Border 304 is madness :)

Spoon makes a silencer for the N1 exhaust. Cuts down the drone noises quite well. Plus, you can remove it whenever you hit the circuit. Very cost effective as well :nice:

Looks like a £5 exhaust reducer pipe with a hole drilled in it lol.

You're probably right ... but it's Spoon ... which makes it $60 US :wow:

Still though, I have it for my N1 and it does what it's supposed to.

agree!

and BTW i think Decat makes the N1 sounds cleaner, not as boomy.

and also running with the silencer all the time and driving hard is not good.

High flow cats arent that expensive. 175 dollars new in the USA at Ebay. I got one second hand for 72 dollars including shipping :Y)

About the weight: weigh your EK9 chairs....just for comparison. Wouldn't care for just a couple of kg's extra.

Sell us the Spoon N1 you know you want to Twed (Mates Rates) especially after selling you ma mugen grill for dirt cheap!!!

Your right about the decat making the N1 sound cleaner.

I had:
comptech 4-2-1 > Cat > Custom Midpipe > Spoon N1
then change to
DC Sports 2.5" 4-1 > Decat > Same midpipe and Spoon N1

The noise is still there when you giving it beens but my boomy resonance sound while sitting at 60mph or so has gone.

Silencer isnt really good to use unless you have to take the mother in law out or something.

i had dc header decat and skunk 2 cat back on my baby d16y7 and i miss the roar so much:(( why would you want to quiten a honda thats part of the fun with them the noise:woot:

Agreed! I like the slightly quiter noise it makes when just daily driving to and from work etc. but its still a beasty noise when I need it to be :D

so you think the spoon n1 is to loud im thnking on buying one soon
so what do use guys think of an back box i should put on would you sell the spoon n1 back box?

What about an oem B pipe with a Spoon Street back box this is a great combo. I have a Street available if you decide this route.
Dunx

Go custom and get a 2 silencer pipe with a subtle back box...?
