I had a look but could not find me answer on this.

I have a Spoon intake elbow fitting to my 9 but I was unsure on the airbox fitting.

It seems quite unstable with the elbow fitted, is this common?

Also the air feed that does a U from the bottom of the box, should this be removed if so is it replaced with anything?

Thank you :)

Alex

Doesn't the spoon elbow have a point that's bolted to the chassis?
I always thought it did?

I'm sure it'll be alright. You'll need abit if movement I would have thought.

I made an extra bracket for my airbox to support it when I removed the second chamber,

Also removed the u bend part from underneath and replaced it with some flexy tube, if you do this make sure you have the end up nice and high to avoid it sucking water in

Also removed the padding stuff in the bottom of the airbox to increase its volume

Yeh movement is necessary. Just think of how much your motor actually moves :)

The spoon elbow is bolted to the strut top so that doesn't move, the air box should be pretty solid also, if the air box moves to much it will put stress on the spoon elbow mounting point,

The rubber pipe is designed to flex and stretch to stop the engine pulling on the air box

Thanks for the help, I will take a gander at the weekend and remove the U bend :)

Going to tackle this at the weekend, has anyone got pictures of there setup for me? :)

Thank you.

Doing it tonight so any pictures will be welcome! or advise on what to replace the resonator in the wing with?

There is a bit of movement I remember my concern when I fitted mine,
But wih the movement of the engine etc, if it were so solid surely it would be worse off, I found the pin under the air box which holds it on can be wobbly sometimes, mine was a bit rusty so wasn't as sturdy as it should be!
