This is on behalf of a friend. He got a spoon ecu for his facelift ek9 last week and everything is working grand.. Only thing is that is annoying him is that when he turns the car on first the check engine light comes on.. He then turns it off and then turns it back on and it aint there anymore..What could the problem be??:thanks:

Never had any problems with my one. Did he try reseting it properly or did he just drive it the minute he installed it?

Does he turn the ingnition on wait for the check lights to go out then start the car or just get in a turn the key straight away. I once go in my car and started it straight away and the ABS light got stuck on now I always let the car finish its checks before turning the engine over never had the light remain on again. I dont have a spoon ECU by the way.

Well I got myself one about 3 weeks ago and I just plugged it in and away.. How do you reset them??

Not sure about that one.. Will check with him :nice:

Not had a problem with mine, like already said above, turn the key, let the lights come on the dash and then once ready and checked start the car.

I thought when you take the ECU out and put it in another car the data is wiped automatically? As there is no power supply whilst off the car and there is no hard-drive to save the data?

Josh..

It will be wiped but he should let it run idle for a while so the ecu can set up what is normal.

Think i might try this although, its been running awesome at the moment. Money well spent!

Thanks lads.. rep+ for anto for your help.. We reset his and ity solved the problem.. I reset mine even though it was running grand.. But it seems to be idling better now so glad I reset mine to
