So sold the ek9 a couple of months back and been rolling around in a 1.6 e36 and im damn bored of it now !

free'd up some cash gona have about 3-4k to spend on a motor, the less i spend the better. want something fun and preferably petrol.

looking at Ep3's (reliable/fun/fast) and also 172/182 but unreliable... maybe a dc2

any other ideas?

Out of the three you mention, a dc2.
You'd get a lovely UKDM for that money! :)

Couple of my mates have the Clio sports, there fast but nothing on an ep3, the sports feel cheap to me. But that's my opinion :)

Think if it were me id be going with a Dc2 mate. Although i reckon maybe the EP3 is a better all round package in terms of practicallity and comfort etc. just depends on preferance i suppose.

Id avoid a clio or anything made by renault like the plague.

Clio Sport is a nice car that performs but personally the feeling when you push the pedal doesn't excite me at all. Out of the three the DC2 would be the most hardcore and fastest probably, certainly around corners, while the EP3 has some practicallity and comfort.

I recently picked up a R53 Mini Cooper S Works within your budget. I am quite taken with it, it's supposed to be for the wife but it's such good fun I love driving it. It's 200bhp so shifts quite well and being forced induction it's quite tuneable. Maybe a bit feminine though?!

Astra gsi/coupe turbo?
Don't handle great but decent 2.0turbo engine easily tunable and cheap.
Can get a stock one up to about 290-300hp for about 1200 if you know the right people and still get 40mpg on a long run.
Cheap to buy too.

What about a nice evo 4? They have all the power and fun you could want and more room than Hondas :)

did look at mini's , absolute brilliant cars to drive. but

think im going with the ep3. best all rounder for what I want :)

Just make sure you get a decent one
Mine felt a bit disconnected but it had done 100,000 miles.

from the car he sold a friend of mine, he's not the most honest person anyway :)

Dc2 although I have been in a 230hp ep3 and it was comfy, quiet etc... not very exciting and didnt feel raw/fun but for an all rounder an Ep3 is a safe choice... still though... Dc2 pal, you know its what you want really :naughty:

Go dc2 they will hold their money better when it's time to sell up as ep3 can be go now at £2k and under.

lolben. miss you bro.

i hate DC2 interior.

can understand what your saying about depreciation but im not that bothered tbh, i just want something a little more modern and comfy, and still have the umph when I put my foot down.

Brothers got an ep3.
Not too keen on the seating position but its much more modern than the ek9 inside.
