Skyline R34 GTT! Update 11/01/15

And get some nicer alloys on there something wider perhaps

I really like it de-spoilered to be honest mate. I agree with matt o there - some nicer alloys and mmmmm! Ticks all the boxes for me though. :nice:

Cheers! Yeah a new set of wheels is definitely on the cards. Possibly some rays re30's or advan v2's. Although they start to get mega pricy at 17-18" :nerv: Plus tyres...

go low and add some buddy club p1`s or 5zigen rp+520`s in 18`s this is a good example lose the spoiler add a roof spoiler and for gods sake get a hks t04z :p

Looks funny without the rear wing. But I will have to wait till you start doing things to it.

Defo get rid of those wheels they are the thing that lets it down the most!
Apart from that beast!
What kinda power do these have?

Ha yeah they do need to go. Looking at tyre prices is making me :eew: though.

I hear they are around 280bhp with 253 lb ft of torque. After its all registered and tested etc I will take it to a dyno to see what it's actually running.

Awsome mate! These look quite understated in gt-t form. Are aftermarket parts expensive for these? And sought after oem parts like gtr bumpers etc? Always toyed with the idea of getting a gtt skyline but never realy looked into it.

Yeah I've ended up dropping a size on the S for the same reason. Can you do the same and go up a profile?
Damn plenty of power then. And plans to up the power? Or just keep the standard and focus on handling?

Cheers man! Yeah I like that they are quite toned down from the gtr. Oem parts are not too hard to find but gtr parts can be expensive and the gtr is quite a bit wider so the bumpers only fit with wider wings etc, pretty much have to change every pannel to fit gtr bumpers. There are companies such as east bear that do kits make the car more "beefy" like the gtr but without widening it. Aftermarket parts can be more expensive then they are on Hondas but I guess it's expected due to things being generally larger, engine, brakes etc. They are nice, can wait to drive mine. My main worrie is running costs though.

Yeah I'm looking at different wheel/tyre setups to see if there is a cheaper alternative. No major plans in terms of power as of yet, just a better flowing exhaust system and intake. 280bhp is plenty enough for me at the moment. Want to focus mostly on handling.

Im diggin the wingless, there arnt many OEM spoilers that I actually like

New update! Whats in the box???

Brand new OEM gearbox! Literally overnight parts from Japan! Despatched on monday at 3am and landed at Heathrow airport at 6pm Tuesday!

Also got a Nismo solid shifter and aluminium gear knob

New coilpacks

Exedy lightweight flywheel and stage 1 organic clutch

Blitz Nur Spec R :drive:

Tein Street Flex coilovers

Got exams coming up in the next two weeks so no playing with the car until after. I will get some new pictures up of the car then!

Great update! Lots of nice parts!
Will be a massive difference once there all on the car

:D

Christ, was not expecting it all to happen at once lol
Why the new gearbox?
Also have you decided on plans for wheels?

Awesome stuff! Would love all those goodies coming from japan. A skyline is definitely on the bucket list.

I always bring up splitfire coilpacks as an example of why you should take forum "technical advice" with a pinch of salt.
Lots of skyline owners club technical help enquiries about misfires would immediately get the response "you need splitfire coilpacks".

Actually the first thing should be new bloody plugs, correctly gapped.

Very few problems were actually the packs, and only then because they'd done 100k.

Cheers man! Yeah, cannot wait to get all the parts fitted and feel the difference.

Ha yeah, it took a while to decide what parts to buy! mainly the coilovers as I didn't want the car to be pretty much unusable on the road. But the new teins are meant to be a huge improvement over the old superstreets model.

Originally the car was auto and I had converted it to manual last year. Mainly because the condition of the auto cars were much better, I would save a bit of money even after doing the conversion properly, and it would be a good bit of car experience. Unfortunately the "reputable company" that sold me the gearbox, sold me a heap of crap, and after being messed around by other "reputable skyline companies" with parts and other stuff, it was almost 8 months from when I bought the gearbox to when I actually got the car on the road and actually realised that I had been sold a dud box! So after loosing trust in the skyline companies I bought a brand new one. It now would have been cheaper to have bought a manual in the first place, but I have learned a lot and having a brand new box to drive around with will be pretty sweet.

As for wheels, I had the money ready to go and get some TE37s 18x9.5 front and 18x8.5 rear, but I would of only had change to fit crap tyres like T1Rs or something. So instead I went for Rota GTRs, with AD08s. I have them on now and I've got to say, I am so happy I went for top of the range tyres rather than top of the range wheels. The rays would have been awesome though!

Cheers! I have a bit of an addiction to getting parcels delivered and opening them, so this was just insane! Yeah, I think any car enthusiast should own one form of skyline at some point!

Haha, don't worry, I learned my lesson the hard way last year. Being a complete noob to Nissan, forced induction and RWD, I was very naive! The skyline forums are huge compared to here, with a lot of long standing members and unfortunately a lot of misguided advice. I took my car to my local garage whom I have trusted for years, they did everything before coming to the conclusion that I needed new coilpacks. As the gearbox was being built in japan I asked them to advise me on coilpacks and get them to throw them in with the final shipment.
