Instead of responding to a thread, I decided to create this thread so everyone could share his own experience concerning this issue. Why not to negotiate the sell of your car with a car dealer??? I just can't tolerate the legal theft!
My friend will get married the following months, so a week ago we went to a car dealer to negotiate the sell of his EK9 being in very good condition, stock, 80000 km mileage. Btw, the dealer had an EK9 ready for sale there......Anyway, the dealer could not accept to pay above 5000 CYP = $10000 after a lengthly negotiation. He was claming all the usual excuses you already know, like, that's how thinks are...........its a 10 year old car..........
Anyway, my friend asked him how much would sell the EK9 the dealer had already there just to see what kind of excuses he would use to raise its value(stock, 120000 km in worse condition......) and the he said 8700 CYP chewing his words a bit....... (it was already registered with numbers plate) He was not willing to sell it below 8500 CYP saying that's how "WE" sell this car.......
Finally, my friend made him an interesting question: "What if I accept your $10000 offer and sell it to you, how much you would sell it back to me a month later??? (with a smile)". He laughed with some kind of embarrasment and claiming a phone call he left rushed for a couple of minutes (he said!!) After a quarter of no signs of his, we left......FAGGOT!!
