Ive noticed today i have a screw lodged in my rear tire!

If i got this properly repaired at the garage, will it be safe to go on track, i.e nurburgring next week?

If a repaired tire suitable for track or is it best not to? Anyone know actual facts or experience in this?

Its in my 888 tire, havent got huge tread left but enough to get me a few laps at least and would be waste of money to throw them away now.

Opinions please,

Thanks :)

NO NO NO do not go on track with a pluged tyre even more so a r888! I took my track tyres off weeks ago for this very reason. Get a new tyre or 2 if the other side is quite old.

Happened to me before i went last year so i bought track wheels and fresh r888's and just use my plugged r888 as a road only tyre on my OEM wheels.

Just to add....

£140 for 2 new tyres or wrecked car? Know what i'd rather have....

Thats such bad luck mate :( typical tho eh!

If you do decide to buy some new ones i may have the two worn ones off you of they are still road legal..might help you out a bit you know?

Cheers for that Ian :nice: I wasnt sure, but didnt like the idea.

JDMarron, Ive just taken them off and replaced the 2 with a pair of RS2's. The nail hasnt actually gone all the way through, maybe just the very very tip of it as there is a little dot(point) on the inside where the screw is.

There is well enough meat on them for road driving especially if you put them on the back. On the front these tires dont last long at all.

Im not sure what i want to do with them as i could leave them for road use, but having the little extra cash will help funds out around this time with the trip.

PM me a price you were thinking dude.

Well i shall only be using them for the pro street series i have entered this year you see so they should be okay. They need to have more than 1.6mm tread for me to be able to use.

PM'D
