Hey guys!!

I'm looking into making one of these later this year :D
Just wanted to ask how many of you could kill for a plug and play lol!!!

Depends how soon you're looking at doing it, I have everything to do the coversion (barring connectors for Plug & Play) but am struggling to find the time - was thinking I'll have to wait until the longer days start coming back.

So if you can do something like this in the not too distant future, you'll definately have a customer here

I've heard digital dashes are harder to read.

Overall or in one aspect only?

I used to run a digi dash from the old Astra GTE in my Nova days, and it was the one thing I missed the most after moving away from Vauxhall's.

Granted, the Tacho was nowhere near as accurate as an analogue (clock) type, but I found the actual speedo far, far better. An ideal combination would be to run a clock type tacho along with a digi speedo (have a look at Stack, top of the line instrument clusters and they all use this configuration: Stack Street-Race Dash Display Systems), as seen in race/rally and on pretty much all new bikes.

I'm hoping that due to the amount of steps on the S2000 instruments, the tacho accuracy issue will have been overcome - if not I'll get a separate analogue tacho also.

At the end of the day though, like many things, its down to personal preference (and I love digi dashes). But the only time they become a little more tricky to read is when yiou have direct, bright, sunlight on them - which aint all that often and doesn't have a massive impact anyway.

Dependant on price, its something that I would be interested in.

I feel thats one of the downsides of the little honda, due to the critcally high revs to keep in the optimum powerband without going too far to damage the engine I feel that the OEM rev counter is way too small.

They should of made it bigger OR put the rev counter in the centre like modern scoobies/evo's!

I tend to go more on the sound of the engine nowadays rather that look at the rev counter!

And before anyone starts questioning my eye-sight, i've got 20-20 vision :nice:

Josh..

I would be GAME for a plug and play s2000 setup.

But I would only KILL for a plug and play that comes WITH a cluster adapter so its bolted directly into the dash as well as plug and play.

Something about the brain finding it hard to gauge speed change on digital speedo's. I was reading about it on Pistonheads, I think it was in the comments section on a review of the late model S2000, one of the people commenting on it was some kind of expert...Supposedly.

I would agree with that...but I would not be interested in knowing speed change as much as I would with RPM change anyway--which the s2000 setup would still provide like a clock setup would, but in graph form.

this is a pipe-dream to me, would need to be a total plug and play for me. I hate wiring a car...not that I cant do it, just prefer not to deal with it...

...if a company came with a kit, it would sell like hot cakes.

...i would be willing to shell out $400 US to have someone do all the wiring and fabrication just so I would not have to. I would buy all parts needed...anyone interested?

my mate is an electrician and has made a plug and play loom for the dash to work . he is way to be making them in bulk so if anyone wants them then il forward you his email address

Email mail me please!

i would be interested but how hard is it to actually fit the new cluster, like how much modifying is involved?

Not that hard at all. Simple template for the front cut from your choice of materials and thats the hardest part.
