robthedoc's ek9 turbo, adventures in boost!


Yeah mate 1000. We went to buy the car for 600 and the guy was like I have the full conversion, I'll chuck it in for 500. Bit of haggling and we took the lot for a grand cash. Couldn't believe it ourselves, the hasport mounts we found online were about 300 dollars each! It came with the sprint hearts yeah. orginal springs as far as I know. Its the 1300 carb. Runs sweet as a nut for being a 30 year old engine. The guy we got it from has a 1.5 model but he's keeping it. Another mate of mine has one but it needs a lot of welding work. Thats all I really know about it. Nothing impossible but a fair amount of time needed. You want me to ask him how much he wants for it? To buy ours it would need to be a ridiculous amount of money. We got for a laugh and love it, never really had any intentions of making money on it so it would need to be a big number to buy us out lol.
 
It was for sale on facebook of all places too. I was having a look and it came up. Through a mate of ours Craig Harley, he runs unit 6 spares. Breaks a lot of Hondas and knows all the right people. It was his mate we got it off but when I replied to his add he said we had dibs.

wouldn't have the time to do lots of work to it so will have to pass on that one sadly :(
was thinking about £2200 without the conversion parts which you could sell on also.... long shot but a mans gotta try haha.
i'll keep my eyes open anyway :)
 
So happy you're sticking with it! :) Wish I'd had mine sleeved originally now, annoyed I didnt!

Cheers Nicole. I'm not going to say I'm glad it happened... I'm not. But I guess with things working out this way it's future proofing it. But yeah I'm not hanging about with this rebuild like. Want to get even a little bit of use out it this year...
 
Can't wait to see this up and running again man, go big or go home right?! Yours will be done before mines, this makes me sad haha!
 
No progress at the moment. Need to get stuff ordered from the states for the new bottom end and sort out a new head. Been busy with other things atm but still hoping to get some use of it before the year is out. Anyway needed a daily and my mate recently got a cl7 accord sport. I was using it for a couple days and loved it so went and got this....
 
Gonna get a set of the 18 inch fn2 type r wheels if a set comes up cheap and probably lower it on springs, and if im feeling flush a euro r style lip kit. It's a beast though! Heated electric everything, leather, sat nav, cruise control blah blah blah. 130k with full history. Used to belong to BT lol.
