Rob's EK9 Progress

Fantastic work! Those rims look great after the touch up, what prep work did you do before applying the paint?

Looking fantastic pal! The Ek9's always get the attention on this forum. Keep it up!

Looks good, Altho I would have kept the H badge on the rocker cover.

Any more plans for it?

Looks really clean!

All I did was remove/pick off any loose paint. Degreased the area with thinners, allowed to dry out fully. Then just got the paint brush out. Nothing special really as its just a touch up unil I've got the spare cash to get them sorted properly. Picture does make it look a lot better in all honesty.

Cheers buddy! :nice: I should hope they get some attention with this being an ek9 forum!

Thanks, When I started to grind off the lettering I had toyed with the idea of just removing the box around the H but I stuck with the smooth look in the end. It just didnt look right.

Not really any mega plans. Will get the wheels done next and maybe a few other cosmetic touch ups. Then I guess a good service ready for the winter.

Then I'll see what spare cash I've got and see what takes my fancy at that time :))

Thanks again guys!

Ok been a bit lazy with keeping up to date with my updates but here's what I've been up to for the last couple of months.

So with the winter months creeping up fast I wanted to get some extra protection sorted of the underside. Heard some good things about the Bilt Hamber Products so bought some cavity wax for the box sections/sills and some under body underseal. Both in spray cans for easy application.

The Cavity wax oosed out of every gap possible, which was a good sign it was getting everywhere.

A decent service was due and again ready for the winter.

So some fresh oil, new plugs, fuel filter

New fuel filter was nice and shiny!

All four plugs looked fairly worn but all a nice golden brown colour. Which is what we wanna see.

Shot of the bay all back together

Couple of weeks later the nine needed a good scrub and the rain held off on the weekend for once. Couple of layers of waxed applied to help keep the winter filth that's due at bay.

Thanks all for reading :nice:

Thanks!

Have nice long list of bits to get and sort so will start collecting parts as and when I can.

Hopefully have some beter updates in the new year when the weather starts to pick back up again :nice:

Thanks guys!

Just gotta wait for the rubbish weather to be over now. No garage for me :(

Thanks for the kind words :nice:

A small update from me as it's too cold to be doing stuff outside, I got busy repairing my drivers side mat. Had a couple of holes, so had seen some abuse at some point. Holes have been there since I got the nine.

I picked up a set of rear mats from Gav, which where in excellent condition. I ended up swapping one of them for my own. This was going to be the donor mat.

I needed to draw out where to cut. So I got hold of an old plastic card to separate the pile of the mat.

Ended up with this shape.

Then I got my extra sharp craft knife out and got busy. Ended up with this.

Then used the nakkered portion as a template and used the same process. Got it lined up and glued it up with some super glue! Didn't take any pictures of this though, so straight onto the finished article.

Much better! Thanks all for reading as always :)

Extremely nice and clean car!

Thank you :))

good idea!

Just need to let it settle now as it can still be seen slightly where the new bit is in better condition than the rest but is still miles better than having those holes.

Will start buying parts ready for the better weather soon too, will mostly be brake orientated. Need a good overhaul. :nice:

great idea with the mat, even just two make one good one out of two knackered mats!
car looks fresh!

Your 9 is cleaner than mine any day! Well good how you repaired that mat
