Rob's EK9 Progress

Thanks guys.

Thought they'd be a nice little touch.

Only carbon on the one side as well so don't have to worry about them getting nakkered.

Thanks again guys!

Not a huge update but it's something.

Went ahead and removed all the wring for the HID's as they failed my MOT for beam pattern and can't be arsed changing the bulbs round every year.

Had to remove the front bumper as I had hidden a portion of the wiring behind the indicator side of the headlight. Luckily the bumper is easy to remove.

This is all the wiring that was in there! Had forgotten there was soo much of it! I went and weighed it after I was done. Came in at 1.5kg's! :wow:

Also had a little wipe around while I was there, keep things a little tidy.

Will look at getting the flywheel and clutch sorted in the new year so will end up with some more major updates.

Thanks for reading guys! :nice:

Fantastic! I just read through this build and has inspired me to touch up a few bits and bobs before I get the full respray done. Base plate and new mud flaps are cool! Btw see refurbin the valve cover, are you suppose to cook it in your own oven? I done that also, but at a meet a couple of the lads were laughing about it putting it in a cooking oven but I kept quiet :p

Hehe! Yeah the VHT needs to be baked to make it cure correctly. A lot let it cure from the heat of the engine which I did end up doing as it wouldn't fit all the way into the oven.

So don't feel embarrassed! :))

Think I might re paint the rocker again in the spring. Possibly the same colour as my brakes but we'll see.

And thanks all for the nice comments!

Great build, great write up. Really like the mud flaps. Where you get them from?

robbieD I love how you treat your EK. It's great that some peepz still got that right attitude :) superb job!

Thanks for all the kind words guys. :nice:

Do have a few bits in the pipe line just waiting on some better weather plus with all the snow the nine is due a good wash and a proper detai as I don't like working on it when it's filthy.

^^^^^^haha you weiner! you should see mine :p well may very well be dirty for the meet on 24th

I've had to drive mine every day for the last 2 weeks as the Mrs has a bald tyre on her Mini, not that I'm complaining cause I love driving the nine, just don't like seeing it really shitty! :blabla: Have had some fun in the snow tho!

Haha! Bet yours is bad! wouldn't expect nothing less from you! :))

Can't believe i have missed this for so long! I love all the attention to detail and the DIY fixes! Really top work mate i am very impressed!

Cheers Ian!
