RHD Japan - what did it actually cost?

Hi all.

I'm looking at ordering a part from RHDJapan but obviously there's more cost to it than the cost of the item and the shipping. What sort of import / extra costs did people get when they have ordered from here?
 
I’ve bought a few bits from there and various other places in Japan

it’s normally about 20-22.5 percent of your total order including postage. Just depends on who is actually delivering it once it hits UK shores,

For example, I know ParcelForce UK add a £12 Admin/Handling fee per delivery from Japan. I think DHL where about £7 for the same. So obviously depending on the value of your order this may be a big or a small percentage of that value. This Admin/Handling fee has nothing to do with the customs or import tax fees that are also there to pay

like I say I normally add approx 22 percent on to my total with whoever I’ve ordered with and I’m never too far off with my guesstimation.
I know it’s not exact but hope it helps mate

Thanks, Dan. With shipping included it’ll total £220 odd so you think I’d be looking more at £260 with the import costs when it’s here in the UK?

you’ll not be far off mate, I reckon between £265/£275 all in
 
20% VAT and 10% Custom duty is payable on the total paid, including shipping costs.

I think you will pay close to £300, as royal mail/parcel force also charge a handling fee on top
 
I’ll order it shortly and see what it comes back with, only way is trying and then I’ll know whether or not to do it again.
