I removed my rear "H" emblem yesterday using advice from the sticky on here and it worked great. Removed all the adhesive underneath it too fairly easily too using tar and bug remover. Then gave it a polish to remove any leftover dirt, etc. But im left with something on the paintwork that i can not remove with anything i have tried. Its rock solid on the paintwork. I tried using turps on it but it didnt do anything. I used a credit card to see if i could pick at it and it removed some of it but not much. Polish, tar and bug remover, turps, etc, are doing nothing to remove it. Anybody have a similar problem and if so what did you do to remove it? Cheers.

you should try heating it mate, with a hair drier or something incase it is just a bit of the sticky stuff either that could try a cutting compound tcut maybe. hope this helps

:nice:

Had something similar on my first car and was recommended 3M fast cut, worked a treat :nice:

Try some petrol on it, will hopefully dissolve it enough to pick off, then give it a polish once all removed.

In all seriousness i used my nails.. i sat there pulled up a seat and pciked at it for about an hour.. finally got all the crap off it and then there were scrathes on it so i used a bit of tcut.. and then some super resin polish ( autoglym ) and it came off a treat.. these things are time consuming..

if not try betterwear they do something called sticky stuff remover does exactly what it says.. here is a link.. its awesome stuff. and smells lemony YEY!!!!!!

Sticky Stuff Remover

All depends if it's glue residue or where the badge has been put on in the factory whilst the paint is soft creating a ridge

Tar and bug remover removed all the adhesive brilliantly but this isn't adhesive. It's rock solid. Polish, tar and bug remover, turps, etc all haven't worked on this. Used some petrol and it didn't do much. I used some 3M cutting compound and it began to remove the lighter stuff but won't remove the heavier stuff unless I go hard at it which I'm afraid if I do will cut too much into the paint with it being so thin on Ek9s. Any other ideas?

Honestly thought you put CL!T bang there martin :-?

Anything I have experienced like this I would suggest T-cut and plain old elbow grease!!
