The red 'H' emblems on my ek9 are starting to fade so looking to buy new ones. Just wondering how they come off and where to get new ones from. They are loacted on the Bonnet and on the Tailgate.

Cheers :nice:

I used fishing line to "saw" through the old glue, then it came off easy.

Are they both just glued on then, front and rear? Where did you get your new ones from?

Thank you very much bud.

Yeah it's just double sided sticky pads basically, both front and rear. On the back of each badge is two pins that sit in two holes on the bodywork.
I got mine from the local Honda dealership, the ones from Ebay go pink after a few weeks i've been told:p

Tip: If it's cold outside when you're re-fitting the badges, get the hairdryer on both rear of badge and panel for a minute, it'll stick like **** to a blanket:D

stanley knife will see you sorted..just work it gently round the edge withthe blade as flat as possible.it'll eventually pop off.get a little degreaser or good cleaner ready to remove the crap left by the old badge and sit the new ones in place ;)

jugbugz sorted me out from japan :D genuine honda ones :D dont bother with UK dealers..their prices are sickening.

Did you order specifically for the EK9 or do the badges from a DC2 also fit?

Reason I ask is because European dealers normally don't have easy acces to the Japanese Web EPC (they have to go through the main office in own country). I'm just curious if they ordered via the Jap EPC.

Mine got stolen. No hassle.....:) Lucky bastards managed to go away quickly!

I gave them my chassis number and ordered from that. DC2 badges aren't the same size are they?

dc2 badges are bigger....use a heat gun to get ur old badges off it'll soften the gluey stuff on the back enuf so u can practically pull them out wit ur nails...the stanley knife trick could damage ur paint.

But EK9's don't have a "classic" chassisnumber like we have in Europe ?

It's good from your dealer that they can order it like that. In my country (Belgium), that wouldn't work at all (and I work at a dealership, I know:)).

Are all UK honda dealers that easy on ordering parts from JDM honda's ?

I gave them the UK registration first but that didn't show anything.

Then they asked for the chassis no. I replied with EK9-120xxxx etc, sorted.

Does anyone know the part number for the front badge? I just lost mine...

Will do, don't spose you recall how much it was mate?

Wasn't cheap. About £50 for both I think, front one is more expensive as it's bigger.

Could try Bernard_28 on ebay. He gets genuine Honda parts.

That's not actually as much as I thought it would be. Lol :nice:

My front badge is def smaller than the rear though... might be a facelift thing...

I heard you just pour boiling water from the kettle and that'll melt the sticky back tape and it'll come off easy then.

Just use turp to clean it up and window spray to prepare the surface

Yes.

Very hot water can work well.

The hardest part is removing the gluey residue that resides after.

The dirt and grime that has built up on it over the years can make it tough.

But as said, hot water, soapy water, and I have found even furniture polish left on for a min or two makes the glue come off easier.

Just wash after and use some meths, thinners, turps etc to remove anything left over, wash again and refit new badge.

I removed all my rear badged apart from the CIVIC badge.

That worked fine. :)
