Hi Guys,

The rear of my EK9 is creaking when I turn while driving. I have changed the anti roll bar bushes and the rear trailing arm bushes which has reduce the creak.
Before I had changed the bushes, it would creak even on the slightest bump on the road and always when turning.

I have had a looked at this thread:
http://www.ek9.org/forum/interior-exterior/40423-help-pls-squeaking-creaking-noise-rear.html

Could the drop links make this sort of noise and how can you tell if it is the drop link or not?

If it is not the drop links does anyone have any idea what it could be?

I don't really fancy the trail and error method of changing parts if possible.

Thanks
Andy

if you used aftermarket ARB bushes you need to lubricate them, otherwise it will creak/squeak.

Some times the rear plastic interior bits can squeak. Try using a pry bar on the suspension to see if any of the bushings squeak under load. Or spray white lithium or silicone grease on the bushings. But test drive it between doing each bushin. So if it goes quite you know which one it was.

Do you have a rear aftermarket strut bar fitted? If so, remove it and go for a drive.

The car suspension is stock. The rear trailing arm bushes are OEM but the ARB bush are energy ones. I have greased them up when I installed them but this was a year ago. Do I need to degrease them?

It does not sound like plastic creaking but I will give it ago.

I will keep you guys updated on my progress.

I would just change the rear drop links mate. If you get stuck I can do them for you.

OK, I have changed the rear drop links and it seems to have solved the problem.

I have now found that my exhaust is vibrating on my anti roll bar. I have to tilt it away from my exhaust meaning that it is now no longer straight. Has anyone encountered this problem before?

This is all sorted now, turns out that I had the ARB the wrong way round.
