Ready for the Ring - E46 M3

will look forward to watching vids after watching the ek9 ones many times! :)

you seem to have got this ready in no time as it only seems like yesterday since the ek9, not forgetting the Subaru or Audi too!

enjoy yourself :nice:

Cheers!

i've wanted one of these since forever, knew that after the EK9 I would need one. I also knew a rough spec of how i wanted it to be and thankfully have the money justnow to do it :)

Full new set of Pilot sport cups going on for Germany, only 3 weeks to go now :D

Steven,

Incredible car, when did you fit the AP brakes? I'm pretty sure they weren't in your build up thread (which has since disappeared).

I can only imagine how fun this is to drive!

AP's just went on last weekend - brand new and i opted for Pagid RS29 pads over the standard issue DS2500

When i was up at Knockhill running the CSL setup it was good, but the pedal feel was horrible and didn't inspire confidence hammering it lap after lap - i also managed to melt the wear indicator clips

the new setup has more out and out power / modulation and with the larger discs (356x32mm) should a good bit cooler

back at knockhill a week on saturday :nice:

Worn out the V70's already or just not gel with them Steven?

they are wearing OK and i really like them!! but after 4 hours at knockhill next weekend they will be a bit low to last an entire ring trip. it seems a good idea for me to fit a new set of tyres before Germany considering the amount of laps which will be done over there (heavy old car, pretty hard on tyres). keep the worn kumho's as spares :)

also Tom Schirmer keeps stock of cups in Germany, so if i need any spares (touch wood i won't) then they are readily available - kumho's not so much!!

Good point on availability, definately dont want to get caught short over there :nice:

Always rated the V70, the hard compound was a solid performer at Brands recently, 40 mins in the scorching hot weather.

DN9 private track day 5th / 6th August

Not long now!

Don't know if you familiar with Al Clark of TrackDayFilms and Driftworks fame. But I've just had a catch up on his M3 project. Not too dissimilar to yours really, I just really love his approach to it all, thought you may like a read.....
