can some one please tell me how to and where do they go???

what part confuses you? they usually bolt to the floor for the lap belts and a roll cage for the shoulder belts.

Yes, for the shoulder belts they should go through the holes in the seat (of course) and go straight back to the roll cage. It is considered unsafe to run harnesses to where the stock rear belts go, I think this is because the belt will pull down on you in a crash as opposed to straight back.

you are 100% correct sir, it will cause spinal compression if it pulls down on you which is BAD!!

good info thanks. . . :nice: as many friends of mine hve harness on stock rear safety locks :nerv:

i haven't got a roll cage though and thats why it confuses me, i only want one on the drivers side

I'm sure you could attach the harness to a very strong C-pillar bar.

I didn't know this, so In my country like 80 % of the installed racing harnesses are unsafe! :nerv:

i wouldent do that, those things will flex, unless its like the miracle X brace!! but sparco makes a harness bar for people in your situation, check it out.

I had a bar welded in the back of my clio turbo for the harness, took out the rear seat on track.

No, no need, can you post any photos? :wow:

I would keep the stock seatbelt as getting in and out of a harness in a daily driver is a real pain.

I agree, I have both in the clio, but some when they install an aftermarket seat cant be arsed with making the oem item fit onto the new seat so are stuck with just a harness.

The Sparco harness bar looks cool but would it not be better to pay a bit extra and get a full Cusco bolt in roll cage?

Also instead of buying the Sparco harness bar could you not just buy a C-pillar bar and fit it to the B-pillar. Are they the same size?

Also if it is unsafe to mount the harness to the rear seat mounting points why is this on the installation guide for Takata harness's?

I think if I had an EK9 with an non-srs wheel or aftermarket wheel I would rather have a Takata harness mounted to the rear seat anchor points instead of the stock seatbelt.

Hope this helps.

OPTIONS
a) attach to Miracle x bar
b) attach to Sparco harness bar
c) attach to roll cage
d) attach to rear seats

Obviously b) is the best but what do you think would be the best option other than that?

Thanks Steven
