i think my clutch is on the way out!!! now that i have all my little things done to my car, exhaust, lighter, intake my clutch or some thin is startin to give in. when i'm havin a race, flat all the way to 9000rpm and when i put it into second it stalls at 7000 for a second or two and then goes down to 9000rpm and its the same all the way up the gears when i'm racing but the strange is there's no smell off the clutch!!!! and what sites do have triple plate clutchs cheaper than if u were to buy in a shop???

is there a reason you want a triple plate clutch? we have built 700whp civics and never used a triple plate clutch, even the pro drag racers with 1200whp dont use triple plate clutches, a few of them might at that level but most stick with a twin plate, and even a twin plate is extreme in your situation. i suggest a 6 puck sprung clutch from clutchmasters or the exedy 3 puck.

I have the exedy clutch!

I bought it for £196 delivered to my door from ebay!

I would defo recomend this cluch!:nice:

If your staying n/a with in the 200 bhp mark an exedy stage 1 organic clutch kit will be more than enough you'll only need a puck clutch or a multi plate clutch if you going very high power n/a or boosting the car or constant drag racing :nice:

Blinx, how would that 'feel' to standard? I will be tracking it and have been looking at what clutch to get when I change the drive. Just picked up a new Exedy 9.5lb flywheel for £100!

well to be honest it feels VERY stiff in its first 500miles but then it softens up and you get used to it as well. it be best if you could drive a friends car that has a puck type clutch so you could get the feel for it :nice:

i wouldn't say i drag race or street race every day of the week and i'm hopin to get the ctr to bout 230 or 240 or possibly 300 if i get a job!!! n possibly be track racing the car so i want a pretty good clutch

I will go for the excedy clutch if I where you, or if you have the money a act stage 1

doesnt sound as if you really need a triple plate clutch,i have had seriously uprated clutches fitted to some of my cars and drastically uprated diffs but they destroy driveability around town and are really for track use only.
a triple plate clutch would be a nightmare to keep at biting point for any length of time, my mr2 turbo had an uprated clutch and my leg always got sore sitting at traffic lights etc.
also had one in my jdm ek4 which was built for track racing in japan but it was too much for a road car.

230-300hp is A LOT, i would suggest you stay away from a stage 1 organic clutch unless the manufacturere states that its NOT organic, the exedy listed is good up to 218lbs of tq, and by the time your making that much tq your making about 320whp so im sure you'll be ok with that. if you really want street driving then you can try an organic, some people have good luck with them, but if you drive hard it will wear out very quick.

I run an Exedy stage 2 thick cerametallic in my ITR swap and love it
Clutch pedal feels close to stock and holds great.

I ran an exedy organic clutch in a 175 bhp vti ek4 civic with 128 lb.ft and did lots of draging in that and the clutch never over heated it was more than fine i know people who run 350-380 bhp imprezas and run stage 1 organics ok

Puck clutches are a NIGHTMARE to live with for everyday driving lol ,esp in heavy traffic :)
