UPDATE

This weekend has been productive again
Oil gauge fitting and oil change ready for Donington Park next weekend
Pulled the car into the garage this week as it was a little chilly outside and looked as if it could rain. Set about dropping the old oil...... dropped the sump plug in the oil and got all down my arm etc (I knew this weekend was gonna be a bad one)
Next i looked at all the parts for the oil gauge, it was a nice fancy SPA gauge reading pressure and temp, the temp would be taken from the sump and pressure from the OEM pressure switch location near the oil filter.
I fitted the temp sensor into the sump plug and tightened it all up, next task was to remove the OEM pressure switch, now the oil cooler sandwich plate made this very awkward, a lot of swearing and a bruised hand and i still hadnt manged to pull the rubber boot off the sensor.
I really didnt want to take off the sandwich plate for the cooler as it was awkward as hell when i fitted it. The boot was off and connector removed, next issue...... i didnt have a deep 24mm socket
Decided to try without and used a normal socket, by now i'd slacked the sandwich plate right off and it was just in the way still! Socket onto the sensore and it cracked nicely, although i managed to bust the nipple off the sensor
What a pain!!!
I screwed in the brass nipple and connected up the braided hose to connect to the remote T-piece for the SPA oil pressure gauge and oem pressure switch, temporarily tie wrapped in place behind the inlet manifold, popped in the new oil and filter.
While the car was in bits i removed the gearbox speedo chip, so my newly fitted S2000 dials would read in MPH when MPH was selected on the clocks
For future reference, stored on the garage wall
Next up was to mount the gauge in the new pillar pod i had purchased from America, the fit left a little to be desired but it went on......just
Few pics of the gauge in place
Wiring needs tidying up where it comes out the dash and into the gauge pod, after Donington i will remove the pod and spreay it to match the OEM grey trim
Looking forward to driving the car this week and seeing what pressure and temp i get from the oil
JOB DONE....... for now
