Looking into getting a vented bonnet but need some good ideas/options.

Please post some pics

Know how you always say you like the subtle look will, i would imagine somethin like this is about as subtle as you're gonna get:

I think it's a pretty personal choice when it comes to bonnet vents, but always thought this kind of louvering looked smart. Plus you can pretty much design it yourself

My brother uses something like this on his rally car, but in white:

Not sure how much good it really does apart from being light, if you were going for function over form I've seen a Scooby style bonnet with scoop  But if I was buying a vented bonnet I would get an Evo-style one in white.

Hi JSB, thanks for that..Ive seen those 'louvres before but they remind me waay too much of the side of old tumble driers or industrial machinary casings/covers. although love subtle its just too dull a look for what I want.

Ive been toying with the idea of having a slit cut on the bonnet near the radiator and having a custom vent made there like the skin of the bonnet pushed down an inch or two then a little sheet metal added and welded in to support it. This is all to do with a power upgrade Im planning along with the intention of a lot of trackdays and my temp needle is rock solid with the fluidyne rad and fan..it would be beneficial and preventative to have this hot air easily evacuated form the bay. I want it to still look as subtle as possible and clean lines. Just need some more exaple pics of whatever bonnets from whatever car that are subtle but good.

LMAO.... Brilliant

yeah I dont mean to be offensive with that but they just dont appeal to me, subtle as they are

Unless your doing it yourself its probably more cost effective to get a fibreglass special to be made?
Maybe just get a spare bonnet and carve a hole in it just for the track - then swap it back after? You will be going to fast for people to notice anyway! :p:D Hassle though.
A tough one to get it looking nice & 'factory' though.

In that case, I always thought this design was the best looking vented bonnet out there, and it seems very similar to what you're proposing above..

This is the C West one that was on one of the cars we broke.

Im tempted to buy an old one and make the vent myself, TIG wel it in, but the problem is by the time youve bought a bonnet, reworked it (time £££) then had it painted properly you might as well of bought one off the shelf

dude that bonnet looks awesome, and not too agressive. that would be myperfect bonnet in CW.

Wow! subtle but perfectly functional. Do you still have the bonnet?

that looks pretty nice but I think Id prefer the ther style C-west one shown since it more subtle.

anyonw know what make the Black carbon one is that jokeshopbeard posted?

Maybe it's me but is the pre-facelift C-West bonnet different from the facelift?

I mean the front part of the air entrance seems more flat than leek9's facelift bonnet.

Is that because one is pre and the other is facelift or just because they are different models?

I love Livvy's one.
