pdapaul's YellowSpeed Time Attack EKK24 on ITBS

That's odd, I taught Karcepts only sold a 3" cold air intake. Perhaps a different brand?

Nope, it's me, I'm a dingbat :x:

You are quite correct its 3"....I've been at the build so long I'm not sure of anything anymore :))
:thanks:

Finally got my SW Motorsports brake box fitted. Had to manufacture a new connecting rod between the pedal and the brake bias, so needed a second pair of hands whilst I measured the length. Fantastic fitting product, can't wait to see the difference it makes over OEM

Next up was replacing the radiator which has a leak. Got a full size rad from Tegiwa, but having never replaced one before I didn't realise the tabs holding the fan on weren't re-usable. By the time I'd realised it was all off anyway, so it still gave me a chance to measure up where the new brackets need to go. I'd noticed a bit of rust on the front panel before, so as I thought I'd strip it back a bit more and sort it out.

Always in for a penny in for a pound, I thought I may as well under seal the front arches as I had the brushes out. So I whipped the wings off and also the suspension to get good access.

Nice!
The pedal box not servo assisted? Be interesting to hear what you think of that.

I thought the shiny new coilovers needed a nicer setting, so got to work on the arms to get rid of the surface rust. A couple of coats of hammerite and its all clean and tidy. It gave me a chance to grease all the bolts and redo the torque settings as I was a little rushed the first time I fitted them. All back together and shiny now :-D

In between coats and because the wings were already off I wire tucked both side to keep them neat and out of the way. This is the wiring for the radiator relay, which I've brought inside to keep the electrics inside. Tidied up the washer piping as well..because...erm I suppose because I can.

Its a lovely thing, so well made. No, no servo, no abs, no prop valve. Only the master cylinder and braided hose between my toes and the front brake calipers. The same for the rear, apart for an in line bias. Hopefully it should give a really good feel on the brakes.

Nearly done.. I undersealed the front panel, and hammerited the slam panel. I'd ground off all of the surface rust, and ku rusted before applying the paint, so hopefully that will sort it.

One last test fit of the radiator as I was putting it all back together..also remounted all the wiring with p clips and and mounted the horn in a different position. The drivers side wire tuck gave me another 12" of cable, so moving the horn tidied the excess. It also allowed me to bring the passenger side headlight wiring in through the side panel so the wires are neater.

And there we go, all back together. Got rid of all of the old bolts, and rebuilt it using Tegiwa dress up bolts. Nice and neat and a nats cock lighter as well...who am I kidding....they are just soooo shiny :) . Put it back together with the Karcepts intake as well for a change. Definitely a nicer fit than my home made effort, I just need to make an adapter so I can put the air filter on the Karcepts tube inside the bay for wet days.

Sounds interesting, be sure to update us on how hard the pedal is without the servos assistance.
Expensive bit of kit I assume?

Will do, first test day us booked for the first week in March, will report my findings :)

I don't think it's too expensive, if I remember correctly about £250, but obviously I can now sell my ek9 master cylinder and servo which I think fetch about £100?

Yeah that's about right.
I always struggle with pedal feel and really hate a soft pedal. Kills my confidence.
Not sure how I'd react to having to put a lot of effort into the pedal to stop though.

Me too in the soft pedal! I've done quite a bit if karting in the past, so I like a pedal that literally bites when you strike the pedal. Hopefully by taking out all the other components it should give a direct feed to the pads

Yeah removing ABS helped loads but I'm still wanting more tbh.
I'm thinking that taking the servo out will help with modulation and feeling the wheels lock aswell, just if I need to push really hard i might not like it lol
Take it the kit is reversible? So no cutting or anything? Will be waiting for your feedback now lol

I reckon you'd soon get used to the pedal difference. Don't forget there's 2 m/c so technically you'll get twice the brake effort for your push.

It literally bolts straight in place of the old servo. The only thing you'd change is the brake hoses.

Yeah that's a good point. Would mean less pedal movement atleast.
You get a bias bar between them aswell?
Sorry for all the questions, quite interested now lol
