Paul's EK4 Track Build

Well when it was outside the car the two top attachments would only line up on one side. I think I just got a bad one. Here's a pic showing how far out it is!

Mines was fine. That bar must have been welded on slightly squint when made. What's it like now you've fitted the cage?

Yea my welder and I measured and the front bar is too short!! It's still the same but with some persuasion it does go together! Do you have a build thread?

some amount of work gone into that,

how much did the respray cost seeing as you done prep work, or did u spray it ur self?

Thanks very much. It was £500 for labour and £650 for materials. It was done by my dads mate and he gave me a lot of help alon the way with rubbing it all down. It was all worth it though when he opened the garage doors an there it was!!

Where did you get yours from? I started one last year but not updated it in about 10 months lol my mate yoused to upload my photos on his lap top but I don't have a clue how to do it and not to sure if I can do it on my iPhone. If you type in ek9 project it will come up my ek9 had red wheels when I first started my build thread and my youser name yoused to be craigek9 had to change it because I forgot my password lol. There's not much on my build thread but have a look anyway it's just about finished now so I really need to get my finger out and update it with everything iv done and see what every one thinks :)

Just read the whole thread...couldnt you have done a worse job at it buddy? I mean international orange for the cage with that NHO color is just to die for! ;)

Outstanding work man! Off the charts hot!

The baffles look proper too, not to be missed if this is going to see track time.

Brakes, what do you have in mind? ITR calipers? 1" booster with oem rear disks? Be sure to fit up stainless lines if possible. Kozy is the man on here to PM with regarding brakes. ;)

Very impressive work. You should be very proud.

Wow, thanks so much. I was on the wall with the colour between this one and a dark purple, think I made the right choice.

Ah, brakes...I knew I had forgotten something! Lol, nah Ive got the meister 303mm brake kit to fit under my orange slipstreams. Been told I don't need a bigger booster with this setup, but we will see. I have some HEL lines to go on too. Next step is to get her waterproof...glass back in.

Oh and because I haven't said what colour the wheels were going here is a pic of them.

Same international orange as the cage, can cover and fuel filter access panel. Pics of those later today.

Heres how they look next to the paint. Can't wait to get them on.

Orange really stands out on the white, but i think it will be in all the small details that will make it look really good or just bit too much... Cant wait to see the finnished car :nice:

So have finally got around to fitting some new bits back on the car. Started off with the suspension as I can't do the interior until the glass goes back in on Friday.

Started getting my polybush's in and it turn out its a lot easier when you remove the shells on the lower control arm first!! They were a bugger to get them out!

Can't wait for the bank holiday when all the front suspension should be on and my whiteline rear anti roll bar with brace should arrive. Think I'm going to get the front and rear ARB powdercoated to stop them rusting as I read somewhere that white line ARB are known to rust!

Looking good! Like the orange cage,

The white line Arb's do like to rust, 2k paint would keep them good if you wanted a cheaper option to powder coating
