Was just looking at getting boost control added to my hondata which got my thinking about other ECU technologies.

Is hondata still considered the best or are there other options out there?

I like Apexi Power FC. Had one in a S14. Tryed and true. Have one for my EK9 but plans changed so it hasn't been installed. Also had a Apexi NEO in a S13 and it did what I needed. I guess I'm an Apexi fan lol

I keep hearing about neptune, anyone used this?

i heard nothing but good things to, if i remember rightly i think you can control booste by gears, for example 1st & 2nd gear run 8psi and the rest 1bar ,
once vtec6000 see's this he'll shed more light on this he mapps these ecus
:nice:

We have a 2nd hand neptune ecu in stock mate, if needed. I always found them good.

My mate had ectune on his boosted build, he was looking into boost by gear and boost by revs set up.

Ah yeh, ectune... another one that i keep hearing about.

Doesnt the Hondata also do boost by gear?

I hear The AEM stand alone unit is also very good.

The AEM S2 looks nice... quite expensive though... LOL

I've got an AEM Series 2. It has a lot of options as well. Highly recommended. :nice:

AEM Series 2 has higher resolution over Hondata; more finite increments of adjustment, this is good! Ive had both and like the AEM over hondata, however I am NA.

I think Hondata was the first good aftermarket ecu to hit the market for tuning Honda's.. And therefore will always be the first one that is suggested but in recent years Neptune, EcTune, Chrome and others have caught up with Hondata and are far superior to Hondata with more options and a smaller price tag. I run a Neptune and find it very good, am going boost now and can keep same ecu as it has all the options I need for boost. Just my 2c

Just stick with Hondata mate. You have no need to change what so ever. :nice:

Yeh going to mate :nice: Was just curious that's all.

I know my way round the software a litte too now which helps.

Sending mine off next week to have the boost gubbins soldered in and some labelled pigtails added onto the conversion harness (for the Boost Solenoid and a switch for the two boost level options) just for ease of use. :win:

Just added some more pics to my build thread ;)

Hondata will be fine for your application. You can do boost by gear etc so all good:nice:

Just had to send my S300 back to the usa for firmware repairs.
